most common way to implement 'net time' privileges
...xact I'm trying to find out the quick and dirty way to sync time between win workstations (xp and vista) and PDC Samba 3.3.2. I do use net logon scripts and it is failing on net time \\pdc-server /set /yes command because of missing privileges. Any know how would be nice. Thanks for your time Liutauras

how to clear winbind cache
...e disable winbindd caching with -n switch we receive desired effect - users get mapped to new uids and gids. Restarting winbindd without -n reverts everything back - users are mapped to old id's. Stoping winbind, removing winbind_cache.tdb file and starting winbind doesn't solve the issue. Liutauras

Having problems with Samba and openLDAP Groups
I'm getting a little closer and understanding how the logs, etc work. I can log onto a Samba share, can read and write to my home directory, but I'm concerned about trying to get the file share Staff to work - want it to be read and write to the Group named Staff. I have set up the group and added myself to the group If I do a smbldap-groupshow Staff - I get sudo smbldap-groupshow

Samba Configuration
Maybe I'm missing this - but I'm having problems setting up some file shares that are limited to certain groups. I've done countless searches on setups and on the tree connnect failed error message, and just haven't found anything that solves my problem. I am able to create shares that are basically open to the public, but I know the security is all messed up. I have openLDAP

Domain not reachable.
I am setting up a domain with MDS and all works well in some offices, but in others I get domain not reachable errors when trying to logon. Could this be a bad switch?

All work fine, client is a part of domain and use remote profile stored in the server samba but the logon script didn't run. This is part of my smb.conf file workgroup = AMMINISTRAZIONE netbios

Newbie question - force file permission to user's secondary groups.
samba version is 3.0.28a-1ubuntu4.7 -- I created users on both samba and the linux system, and created 3 groups on the system. Each of these groups own a specific directory, the directory on the filesystem belongs to root.groupfoo. On my smb.conf I gave each of these groups write access to its directory (@groupfoo to the share /groupfoo). So now every linux user belonging to groupfoo can write

PDC/BDC Problem
Hi all, I'm rather new to samba and trying to deploy a PDC/BDC Setup for our company. Got some books and the manpages here to help me :) The config-files are attached at the end of this mail. Used Samba is 3.2.7-11.6 on a SLES11 system. The PDC is running as ROLE_DOMAIN_PDC says testparm, the BDC as ROLE_DOMAIN_BDC. Both DCs use a LDAP (OpenLDAP 2.4.12-7) for user authentication. The LDAP
