samba 4.0.6 getent group
Hello all listies. I've got samba4.0.6 running on FreeBSD 9.1. Joined W2K12 domain as member server. running getent group I noticed it takes a long time to resolve groups. The result is correct, but it is inordinately long. With 3.6.13 on FreeBSD 9.1 the return is nearly instantaneous. smb4.conf looks li...

What version is sh?
I'm trying to write an automatic check of the toolset installation for R. It'll get all the tools to print their version numbers, and complain if they aren't acceptable ones. However, I can't see how to get sh to print version information. Is there some way to do it? The sh I'm worried about is the one that comes with Cygwin, if there isn't a standard approach. Duncan

R solaris 64 (etc) build errors
...ource. I'm doing my builds on a T2000 running Solaris 10, patched up to date as of a week or so back, using the Sun Studio 11 compilers. Very generic build flags - the same flags worked perfectly using an older version of R. Nothing special going on, here. I'd appreciate any help that listies can provide. I'm willing to try out any suggestions that folks are able to come up with. Cannot start a secondary Xserver with resolution 6480x3840
Hi, thank you very much for your reply. I will explain my use case in more detail. First thing is to note that it worked with nvidia (apart from this annoying system freeze which happened roughly every three months). > First off, you're not using the nouveau ddx, you're using the > modesetting ddx. This isn't a problem in itself, but if you're going > to report bugs,

Cannot start a secondary Xserver with resolution 6480x3840
Hi, In my workflow I am using several separate xservers. One for work, another for research and so on. Each of them has a separate user account, and they all belong to the same (main) group called janek. I've been using nvidia for years, but about 2 years ago some super annoying bug appeared in nvidia, namely that switching between virtual terminals sporadically causes nvidia_modeset to
