Liquidsoap 0.3.0
Hi list, The Savonet team is proud to announce a new release of its programmable audio stream generator, liquidsoap 0.3.0. Liquidsoap is a simple ruby-like script language allowing one to build audio stream sources from various elementary sources, source combinators and audio outputs. It is mainly intended to be used as an icecast client for internet radios through the use of the shout output source, but could a...

Can anyone recommend any program newer than the last release of Liquidsoap, which, unless I misread the page, was in 2007?

Icecast Auto DJ
...ng setup, but my nonstop machine is not on the icecast server but externally. Now in shoutcast transcoder i can give the live dj a priority of 2, and the nonstop machine a priority of 1, so djs can login over the nonstop. Who can help me and can tell me the working setup of icecast with ices cc or liquidsoap? Thanks in advance. Marv

icecast eating CPU in Debian
Hello! I have had problems with icecast beginning to eat all my CPU lately. I use the icecast2-2.4.4 source on Debian testing, I have recompiled it for SSL support. The hardware is amd64. I see nothing particular in the log files. One thing I can think of is that I have liquidsoap asking icecast if some mount points are up. It looks like this in the log files: 10.0.0.6 - - [22/Apr/2019:18:20:00 +0200] "GET /test.ogg HTTP/1.0" 404 394 "-" "Liquidsoap/1.3.7 (Unix; OCaml 4.05.0)" 0 10.0.0.6 - - [22/Apr/2019:18:20:01 +0200] "GET /verketlive.og...

DJ Priority with ices-cc or liquidsoap
Hello all, I'm using shoutcast at this moment with shoutcast transcoder 2. In sc trans i can give each deejay an priority, so i give the nonstop (auto dj), offsite an priority of 1, and the deejays 2, so they can login over the autodj. I was testing with ices and liquidsoap but i cant find the setting to give the dj's a priority. Shoutcast transcoder 2 offers an function to broadcast 3 bitrates, i'm using 192,64 and 32. I was testing with ices but then i need to broadcast to 2 encoders from the deejays. Has anyone a tip so i can use 3 bitrates at once and...

As long as you're happy with icecast-level fallbacks, it's cool, since it does not put any constraint on your source clients. Maybe you're tied to particular source clients for functionalities or availability on Windows. Bu...

Opus vs. Vorbis
Hi all, I've been looking at opus lately as a replacement to vorbis and it sure seems to me that, at least on paper, it is the 'next generation' streaming codec. Has anyone been using opus as a streaming codec to Icecast? If so, how do the following general characteristics compare to vorbis? + Quality + Latency + Bandwidth + Performance (on stream client and Icecast server) +

After I enabled SSL, stream mountpoints broke
Philipp, Thank you for your quick response. I can't believe that I didn't think of that...I guess I just assumed that it would use SSL. I'm using Liquidsoap as my source client. Once you brought that up I started researching whether there was a way to force Liquidsoap to use SSL and from what I found it doesn't look like there is an option...but please correct me if you or anyone else who reads this knows differently. After I had a good idea of w...

Icecast and AAC streams

Icecast and AAC streams
All the broadcasters on the server which I support deliver their content in MP3 format. Recently, there's been interest in supplying a second AAC stream at half the bandwidth but with the same audio quality (64kbps AAC versus 128kbps MP3) like TuneInRadio does for delivering their content regardless of the source. I've thought of using a third-party product called Stream Transcoder, but am

Making a smooth transition between sources?
Oh, this seems very cool - but, it doesn't handle the actual streaming, am I right, just mixes multiple relay streams together? Or, does it actually stream from playlists on the server? If so, I'd switch in a moment! (I think I'm seeing different documentations from different times here...) I'm using eztream as my streamer for when my base computer isn't operating... and I
