before_filter chains and halting at an arbitrary filter
Hi--I''m trying to implement a 2-level authentication system, where I have one before_filter which does general user authentication, and another which does further authorization for a specific controller. I have it set up as follows: before_filter :authorize_level_2 prepend_before_filter :authorize_level_1 which causes authorize_level_1() to run, and then authorize_level_2().

winbind, idmap_ad and ldaps
...he entry changes to port 636 - but the winbindd is unable to open any network connection. So, obviously winbindd needs some initial communication on port 389 when connecting to AD - which it shouldn't. Any ideas welcome. 8-bit characters in windows login
Hi, I'm having a severe problem with the 2.2.7 version of samba. We have Windows users with "umlaut" characters (???) in their names. Now I find that obviously the login name sent by windows is truncated at the first such character (user is "Horst-G?nther Barzik"): [2003/01/20 09:57:26, 10] lib/util.c:dump_data(1539) [030] 48 6F 72 73 74 2D 47 81 6E 74 68 65 72 20

Hard links: incomplete backup or rsync does not terminate
Hi all, when running backups, rsync sometimes does not terminate. I finally managed to create a small test case which reproduces this behaviour (another night without sleep, so sorry for the bad English...): Using rsync 3.1.0 [no change in a quick test I ran after compiling 3.1.1] on Linux (x86_64) the following sequence causes rsync not to terminate: > mkdir srclt2

Servers A is a 2x2GHz Xeon with 4GB Ram and Server B is a 1.8GHz AMD with 2GB Ram. The documentation states about some 60-300msec, so my

Problem with Streams > 160KBit/s
Hi, does anybody set up an icecast server delivering streams > 160KBit/s ? I tried that with liveice and shout but in both cases the stream stutters very much. So, I have eliminated the Net (stream to localhost), the CPU (P3/800 should be fast enough), and lame (can encode 320kBit/s 3 times faster then the wav has secs). So the Problem should be icecast. can anybody please enlight me?
