lan manager on OS2 and samba
...I would for a normal
windows/linux setup, I am now having problems with samba being available
to the lan manager clients. The NT and w2k machines are fine, but the
lan manager ones can connect as a particular user but can't view
contents of shares. ie from the command line doing:
net use \\linx\linxdata (mounts share no probs)
net view (can see the share)
cd into share (no probs)
dir (just hangs)
in the samba log file on the suse machine I get the error
"... Record doesn't exist ..."
In the smb.conf file I have included:
lanman auth = yes
lm announce = yes
lm interval...

for a little while - bumped into a dead end now ;(
I am running centos-3 x86_64 (RH ES equiv) with samba 3.0.7-1 as the
server, and OS2 as the client. Kernel is 2.4.21-20.EL. Connectivity is
no problem, OS2 just hooks straight on in. To test, I have been running
net use z: \\linx\linxdata
(no problems)
[C:]xcopy *.* z: /V /S
The xcopy seems to work fine until it hits the dir /Desktop, then it
stops, saying : The system cannot create this directory

*set ea support = yes in my smb.conf
*recompiled the kernel with extended attributes set to y
