NFS(4) IMAP Quota
...w issues we encountered: 1. Nfs4 is not recognized. The problem is that the mount type is only checked for "nfs" and not nfs4. This was an easy fix. 2. The (fs)path for nfs4 that is relayed to rquotad has to be without the leading "/". This was an easy fix, too. (borrowed from linuxquota: http://linuxquota.cvs.sourceforge.net/viewvc/linuxquota/quota-tools/rquota_client.c?view=markup ) 3. Maybe because we do not use softquotas the quota active boolean (rq_active) in the rquota struct is always false. So we hackishly removed this check. This problem also occured here: http://dovecot...

For the future search: > Anyway, i've lost some time for: > https://sourceforge.net/p/linuxquota/bugs/135/ Author reply, problem fixed in 4.04 (that debian buster have); specifically, author say: Well, there's a better solution for this. If you have quota-tools >= 4.04 and if you run at least on kernel 4.6, there is support for Q_GETNEXTQUOTA quotactl and thus quota scanning doe...

...m schema. I've had mixed results doing that in the past (the qmail schema (http://www.zytrax.com/books/ldap/ape/qmail.html) was incompatible with my existing structure, and at the moment I'm using a hacked version of the linux quota project's LDAP schema (http://sourceforge.net/projects/linuxquota/) - I'd rather have something a bit more official). If there is a recommended schema that you guys use which is stable and works well I would like to give that a try. -Thanks, Ian.

quota problems with ext3/249-ac9
Hi! I've got some "serious" quota-problems with ext3... it seems not to work at all... I'm currently running 249-ac9 with no patches, slackware 7.x-current from january or so, all the quota-utils from the original distribution. the kernel prompts correctly "VFS: Diskquotas version dquot_6.5.0 initialized" and that was it. neither quotacheck nor repquota or any other

Fwd: ext3 for 2.4
...K. I'll leave them turned on as I test things, and watch out for oddities. It's hard to find working quota tools. Most of them either don't want to compile and/or don't understand ext3. Jan Kara is maintaining a set of quota tools at http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/linuxquota/ which work well. The current CVS tree from there seems to be under XFS development at present and needs a couple of patches to work against ext3 (and even ext2). I can send them to whoever needs. - Recovery works fine now. The bug was that I was splicing new blocks into a file in ext...

...nux quota with kernel 2.2.17. This worked fne and the when a user mapped a network drive with a quota of 300 MB in windows explorer it reads that there are 300 MB free. Now I compiled sama 2.2.1a with quota support and I am running it on the same system but with kernel 2.4.4 wit the "new" linuxquota package. Now when I go to windows explorer it shows me the whole space on the drive, not the quota of the user. But the quota itselfe works, if the user is over the quota he can't write files to the disk. Is there a fix for that or am i mising something ? Any help would be apreciated...

...e: <http://lists.samba.org/mailman/listinfo/samba>, <mailto:samba-request@lists.samba.org?subject=unsubscribe> List-Archive: http://lists.samba.org/pipermail/samba/ Hi all, ich have the following problem with samba and quotas. I have a linux server running kernel 2.4.9 and the latest linuxquota tools (3.01-pre9) I have compiled samba with quota support enabeled. But when I use the new quota style (vfsv0 version 2 quota) samba does not recognize it and displays the whole harddisk space in windows explorer and not only the userquota. My first attempt was to use vfsold (version 1 quota) with...
