Lan Kernel Problem
I'm building a Linux box to act as Proxy/Router/Firewall. I'm using CentOS 4.5, with an "old" motherboard (Asus A8V-X), and two Ethernet NIC, based on a realtek chip, that's widely supported under 2.4 and later kernel (the cards were functioning excellent in another PC whit Fedora Core 1). CentOS detects the on board LAN, but not the other two, in fact, knoppix 5.0.1

max mount count incovenient
Hello group I added a new partition in fstab, and works without a problem. I used mkfs.ext3 to create the partition. My problem is that every 26 boots, the system tells that the partition have no been checked since 26 systems boots, ant start to check my new partition. This is a lot of time consuming, and always is in a bad time. There some way to do the check in a controlled time? i.e. do it the

creating script for init.d
Hello. I'm moving from a very old Fedora Core 1 to CentOS 4.4, what a change!! Three year ago, I wrote some script (network related) and worked very well. Now, I can put into init.d by means of chkconfig and I restarted the system, but always hang when executing my srcipt (in my new centos 4.4). Managing cronjobs as a file in solaris with appendifnosuchline for specific servers
I want to manage cronjobs as a " file " in solaris through puppet and not using the puppet cron resource. I will be managing the file /var/spool/cron/crontabs/root. How to change NIC alias?
Hello all. I'm installing CentOS 4.4 over a PC with 3 ethernet cards, one onboard (gigabit) and the another two discrete PCI. During installation I have no choice to control who will be eth0, eth1 and eth2, but I need that eth0 be the onboard ethernet. In the end of the installation, it turned out to be one of the discrete ethernet eth0. I need to change that alias, so that the actual eth0

upgrading iproute2
Hi. I have Fedora core 1 (kernel 2.4.22) and I downloaded http://developer.osdl.org/dev/iproute2/download/iproute2-2.6.7-ss040608.tar.gz Before upgrading, tc -V shows "iproute2-ss020116", and after shows the same. I had a lot of errors during install (make and make install). Is this lastest version for kernel 2.4? How can I upgrade?? Thanks a lot. Leandro
