The Readme file for the centos iso files says to get the docs for md5sum and CD burning from linusiso.org The linuxiso.org site has been down for many days. Is there an alternate site where these docs can be accessed? Charles L. alternative for a broken link
Hi all, In the http://wiki.centos.org/FAQ/General page, there is this description: If you need to burn the images with another program (cdrecord on Linux, Nero on Windows, etc.) here is a good reference for burning ISO images: http://www.linuxiso.org/viewdoc.php/howtoburn.html The referenced site does not exist any more. Does anyone know good alternatives? Thanks, Akemi

memdisk and iso
Hi, I am trying to boot a server via PXE with following configured for its PXE. LABEL IMP MENU LABEL IMP LINUX memdisk INITRD linuxIso.iso APPEND iso I haven't been able to get this work, probably only because of network speed. PXE server is on RHEL 5.8 and syslinux 5.x While I was booting the server, I ran dstat on PXE server and saw the outgoing network speed was 400-500Bytes. So looks like there is limitation on speed via...

final tests fail with samba...can anyone help?
Hello, I just took an old PC and installed SuSE 7.0 on it. The machine has 32Mb of RAM, so I needed a slim installation and kernel, and this was the only package I could get to install without immense effort (I tried 5 other versions of small linux distros from linuxiso.org before this one). The version of Samba I installed on this Suse box is 2.0.7. From what I have read, this version SHOULD work with Windows 2000. I had to look hard to find it on the SuSE site, because they have mothballed it off into an "obsolete/unsupported" directory. I was just gl...

Same email recieved
Some of my users seem to be receiving the same e-mail over and over. This doesn't happen all the time, just once in a while it seems to get stuck in a loop. Is it possible that dovecot is the culprit here or is this a problem with something else? I'm running Postfix/amavisd/dovecot on Slackware 10.1. Regards, Savage

Problem with pop3 and alpha3
Hi all, I have a problem with dovecot-alpha3 and pop3 protocol (on a tru64 5.1a...) In my Maildir/cur there are 8144 mails and if I use pop3 protocol I receive in the output 8146 line instead of 8144. The problem is that 2 mails are duplicated . The output of ?List? command is like: 1 51265 2 261783 . . . 2987 30291 2987 30291 (duplicated line) 2988 16631 . 4601 1231 4602 8921 4602 8921

Starting with Samba - first impressions
...an instance of Win XP Pro as my client. This way, I have a self-contained Samba network in a laptop that can travel with me and does not rely on any network connectivity to develop the Samba environment. I thought this would be an easy part but one of the Redhat 9 ISOs that I downloaded from linuxiso had a corrupted package (disk 2, the xpdf package - two separate downloads, two separate burns on two different computers, and both had the same flaw), followed by one XP Pro VMWare install hang in the middle. As a result, it was nearly 5pm before I had the OSes installed correctly and was rea...

new to dovecot
Hello all I'm new to dovecot (and imap in general!) having installed only only today. My current set up is exim as MTA with procmail delivering /var/spool/mail/%user (which gets nfs exported). We also have a pop3 server running as well. I'm moving to new machine and though I'd look at dovecot and squirrelmail. In /etc/dovecot.conf I'm confused by the default_mail_env, what

Sending email with IMAP instead of SMTP?
Here's a kind of "outside the box" thought. Why not extend the IMAP protocol to send email? Instead of having to use SMTP if an addition were made to the IMAP protocol then IMAP could transport outgoing mail to the server the same way it moves messages to the server. On the server end Dovecot would deliver outgoing email to the host MTA via localhost:25. The advantage would be

Alpha4 pre-release, please upgrade
Please try if http://dovecot.org/nightly/dovecot-latest.tar.gz (or the CVS directly) works with you. I made a lot of changes to dovecot-auth, so I wouldn't want to make alpha4 release without some more testing in different environments. I'll release alpha4 in a few days, but it'll be basically same as this unless more bugs get fixed. Some of the changes include: - IMAP: We might
