help locating how-to guide for centos, postfix, dovecot, clamav and spamassassin
I have tried searching google (found page 1 only in the cache), howtoforge.com, linuxhelp.net (older postfix document), centos forums, hughesjr forum and centos irc channel. I was pointed to linuxhelp.net and at first thought that the howto in the forums there was it. Unfortunately, I only glanced at the title when I bookmarked it and when I got back home later that evening and ac...

CentOS Build
Johnny, or any one to answer. http://www.linuxhelp.net/forums/How_to_Build_Enterprise_Srpms_t3384.html As it seems this was done in 2004. Is there an updated version to it? Also the required pckages needed. I have the info from WBL site and various scripts from the centos site. What i am really interested in is the main os rebuild with anaconda r...

CentOS on HP DL360e with B120i
I am trying to install CentOS5 on a new HP DL360e G8 with B120i disk controller. It appears that a proprietary HP driver is needed for it. I found a useful description at http://www.linuxhelp.in/2013/08/Installing-centos-on-HP-Proliant-DL360e-Gen8-with-B120i-controller.html I have a pair of hard drives to use as a RAID1 mirror. My question to people who may have been this way already is: is it worth my fiddling around with that procedure to get the RAID controller working, performance...

C7 AD server
>> Try this. I have been thinking of trying it on C7. >> http://www.linuxhelp.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=10868 I wouldn't follow the instructions on that link. Disable iptables? Nah! The author lumps SELinux and the firewall together. What is said about DNS is also misleading. DNS is crucial for AD. Please look at the Samba Wiki instead.

Mount USB disk at startup?
I have a CentOS 5 machine with an external 500G USB disk, formatted with JFS. How do I get this to mount automatically at boot time? If I add to /etc/fstab: /dev/sdb1 /var/video jfs defaults 1 2 fsck.jfs complains at boot time: Error: Cannot open device /dev/sdb1 Usage: fsck.jfs ... ... Give root password for maintenance ... If I log in with the root password, /dev/sdb1 is present, and I

polite help request: Building Wine on Ubuntu / Kubuntu 6.06 (Dapper Drake)
Hello Karsten, Please can you help clarify a couple of points in your how-to guide? We are trying to install Wine on a 64-bit (dual core) Celeron system. The general problem we are having is that it is not clear at what point to perform the "configure" or "make" commands. We have followed your instructions very closely, but some steps are unclear: 1) "configure will

CentOS and BAT File
In windows, we use BAT file to execute few series of command , which help us in not writing each command manually everytime we want to execute those commands. In CentOS, I want to do the same thing. Sendmail vs. Postfix
Hah!!! This list is just too calm and mundane. The only thing we argue about is the ''announce'' list vs. the ''user'' list. ;) So, it''s springtime! I''m seeing all the regularly scheduled ''oil'' threads on my motorcycle lists and thought "oh what the heck, lets get the ''oil'' thread going over on the CentOS
