[Fwd: Re: : Win XP Client does not remove directories]
Hello Mailinglist,
I still have the problem, which is described in my first and second post
with this topic, that i sometimes can't delete directories on the
Samba-Server from WinXP machines.
I can't send my Ethereal-Logs to the list, but i send them to Jeremy,
who never answered me anyway.
If anyone can help me or would like to see the Ethereal-Logs, with the
fact, that Windows

It appears that we need a Frequently Asked Questions document to go with
our introduction of the Wine Fora to the mailing lists.
I will start with the first topic:
1. Q. What is Wine and where do I get it?
A. Wine is an Open Source implementation of the Microsoft Windows (TM)

Segfault in Samba
Hi!
My Samba setup broke after upgrading Samba from 3.0.5-1 to 3.0.6-3 using
Debian apt-get upgrade. It seems to me, that the problems lies within
winbind. Any help would be appreciated!

[Fwd: [Fwd: Re: : Win XP Client does not remove directories]]
Hi @all,
Can someone please just confirm me, that Samba doesn't remove a
directory in case of a "SET_FILE_INFO"-Request for this directory?
The following abstract is out of an Ethereal-Log and shows a
SET-FILE-INFO-Request for a directory:

Legal command?
In dosdevices is the command ll (2 l's) in terminal window a valid command to see what devices are there.? I found this in LinuxForums.
Now, Wine has simulated ports and drive letters in the ~/.wine/dosdevices directory. In there you will find symbolic links to the Linux paths of your physical devices. Go to that directory in a terminal window and type "ll" (two L's). You should see something like this:

sound conversion assistance
OK, I downloaded a batch of ".rm" audio files from the net. I can play
them with mplayer or realplayer, but how can I convert them to something
else, e.g. mp3, etc.? So far haven't unearthed any tools that can both
read them and write out in another format.
Thanks!

Asterisk from flash with dynamic voicemail enable/disable?
I would like to create a rock solid asterisk server that comes up no
matter what.
Ofcourse I can consider hardware raid1 but.... for the cost of a hardware
raid controller I can also buy a 2GB compact flash card that doesn't
produce any heat or noise and is friendly to the electricity bill and
our environment :)
2GB is more than sufficient for a linux distro and an * installation but

Uppercase directories on windows don't work
.../remote/files /cygdrive/c/Uppercase/test
fails in general with something like
rsync: mkdir "/cygdrive/c/Uppercase/test/a"
failed: No such file or directory (2)
The site that has given me the right hint (although not the right
solution - to reformat the disk) was this one:
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/linux-newbie/55198-rsync-complains-no-such-file-directory.html
Citing the relevant conclusion from that page:
