PROBLEMS connecting to SAMBA
Hi
I have a machine on which RedHat Linux 6.2 is installed. IP address of
machine is 10.5.2.180
We have an intranet in our office. My neighbouring machine has IP
address 10.5.2.179
My workgroup name is MCIA
I'm giving netbios name as ''LINUX_SAMBA" which appears in my neighbours
machine in network
neighbourhood after I UP the samba server.
When my neighbour clicks on it it asks for user name and password.
My smb.conf file is something like given below
Question: What is the problem that I can't log onto samba from my
neighbour...

Windows 2000 and Samba
I have a Samba server running on an AIX 4.4.3 RS6000 that has been serving
up files without problem. Recently, a pair of machines, both Windows 2000
Pro, haven't been able to gain access to any of the Samba resources on the
AIX server though they were both able to previously. Other WinNT and Win2k
machines can get to these shared resources fine, just not these two.
I haven't found anything

Hi,
I have problems with setting samba as an ordinary client in our
company's intranet, and the MIS refuse to help me any non-M$
related problems. Please help me or point where can I find the
answer in the BIG swat book.
my machine is linux_samba
i lived in the RD_DOMAIN, the printers lived in PUBLIC_DOMAIN
1) how to setup a NT USER->SAMBA USER mapping, i.e.
login as a NT user named `nt_user' into my linux as `linux_user'
2) how do I connect the printers in another domain?
3) how to lookup the ip address by the host's NETB...
