IPv6 link-local address support with Samba4
...v6 wildcard address. However, the point and print operation fails
using IPv6 link-local address. It throws up "Operation could not be
completed error 0x00000709" on the client. The smbd log says OpenPrinter
error.
_spoolss_OpenPrinterEx: Cannot open a printer handle for printer
\\<ipv6.linklocal.addr>.ipv6-literal.net
Is OpenPrinter suppose to work with IPv6 link local address on Samba4? This
used to work fine with Samba3.5.
Thanks,

PCs connecting via IPv4 and IPv6
as I monitor that one installation from the other thread "GID range
full!" I see sessions in smbstatus that use the LinkLocal-range of IPv6:
ipv6:fe80::
nice, why not ..
Interesting for me: the same 2 PCs using these IPv6 sessions also run a
smbd-process via IPv4. 2 connections in parallel.
I have no problems with dual stack and don't want to turn off IPv6 or so.
I just wonder why only these 2 PCs do that? near...

Debugging Samba is a total PITA and this needs to improve
Once again, something with Samba thirty bazillion components broke. Once
again, my choices for logging are "nothing" or "15 MB/s spread of ten
different files, because 'client authentication failed' totally needs to
be lower priority than malloc debug info". Once again, none of these
messages is actually able to convey what broke, where, why. Why is it
impossible for
