persp or wireframe 3D plot: how can I independently adjust linewidth of the 'surface' and framebox?
It is a trivial matter to adjust the linewidth of the axes and plot
line in a 2D plot:
x <- 1:10;
y <- 1:10;
par(lwd=2); # axis (and others) linewidth
plot(x,y,"l",lwd=6); # plot linewidth
Is there anything comparable to this for persp or wireframe? I've
tried a number of ways, and the framebox/axes seem to be linked to
the linewidth used in generating the

linewidth in Rgraphviz
I'm an Rgraphviz newbie trying to figure out how to do some things/whether
they are possible.
Apparently graphviz does allow you to modify line widths of edges: see
https://mailman.research.att.com/pipermail/graphviz-interest/2001q2/000051.html
(although it looks a little obscure even in graphviz). [As discussed in the
thread
above, the "weight" parameter in Rgraphviz sets the

I'm experiencing problems with rpois. Occasionally, it draws a very high

Yeah, I know, this is statistics, things like that does happen, but this really
strange because a poisson distribution with a parameter of 3 shouldn't see the

controlling the edge linewidth in Rgraphviz
Hello,
I would like to have different linewidths for the edges of my graph. I
read the documentation but could not find how to control this. On the
Graphviz help page I've seen that there is something called "penwidth" but I
could not find it in the R edge attributes.
Thanks a lot for any help.

There is a Vignette that explains all the new stuff.

Setting fontsize in dev.copy2eps
...t arguments to
dev.copy2eps. But then, the figure gets too large, and scaling
down the figure to a reasonable size when including the figure
in a document, things like linewidth become to small.
The only way out of this as I see it (apart from not using
dev.copy2eps) is to enlarge all objects like linewidths,
fontsizes, etc. So, when the figure is scaled down (when
including it in a document, leaving it at its default size at
the moment of saving with dev.copy2eps), the linewidths and
fontsize come out OK. This seems a bit drastic. Is it even
possible to resize all elements? For instance, can I enlarg...

Question regarding R plot
Hi, I am new to R, and have a quick question regarding an R script
that I received from a kind colleague.
I am trying to determine the "peak" (maximum value) of the graph that
is plotted when executing the following. There is an input file called
"rates_values.txt" which begins as:

Difficulties in interaction between R and latex (prosper)
Hello, folks! I'm trying to use R as a graphics program, to make some
pretty graphs that will go into prosper slideshows.
I wrote this fragment, from the R manual, into a file demo.R:

Hello again!
This is a follow-up to my message on R-help about a problem with match.arg()
I have a little more on the topic, but not much really.
First, it was not entirely true what I wrote in r-help that I call match.arg()
in my ramp(), because ramp() just calls qamp() with runif() as

type = 'b' with Grid
Dear all,
I feel like I've been reinventing the wheel with this code (implementing
type = 'b' for Grid graphics),
http://econum.umh.ac.be/rwiki/doku.php?id=tips:graphics-grid:linesandpointsgrob
Has anyone here attempted this with success before? I found suggestions
of overlapping large white points to mask the lines but it's not ideal.
I welcome any comments on the code.

I was wondering if it's possible to have fonts in plots to be

[LLVMdev] Runtime linker issue wtih X11R6 on i386 with -O3 optimization
Hi everybody. I have an odd issue that I'd like to get some advice on.
It is a bit of a long story so please bear with me.
X11R6 has a notion of modules so it basically compiles everything into
shared libraries and at start-of-day it loads libraries (modules) as
needed. A side effect of that is that they require really lazy binding
because they do (can?) not enforce the load order.

[PATCH] Annotate shapes, text and dbus support
Here are my patches to add extra shapes to the annotate
plugin. I have also added dbus support and made a few things
configurable.
The new tools available are Line, Rectangle and Circle, the
original is called Brush. There is no selection line at the
moment because I do not understand OpenGL yet. Hopefully
these patches can be added and something added later.

problem with using lines command on windows XP machine
Hello,
I'm using R version 2.2.0 installed on windows XP machine, with SP2 (maybe
it's also interesting to note it's laptop, so it outputs to a laptop screen)

To test it I use the following code:

y = c(-1,0,1)
plot(x,y, type="l", xlim=c(-1,1), ylim=c(-1,1))

ggplot two-factor legend
Hi
I am using ggplot to visualise y for a two-factorial group (Bio: 0 and 1) x
= 6 years. I was able to adapt the colour of the lines (green and red) and
the linetype (solid and dashed).
Challenge: my code produces now two legends. One with the colors for the
group and one with the linetype for the group. Does somebody have a hint how
to adapt the code to produce one legend? Group 0 = red and
