I don't think this is an ideal solution...

especially not be a c...

Why still no PKCS#11 ECC key support in OpenSSH ?
PKCS#11 support for ECC should have been integrated years ago. Let's not complicate it now, just integrate the existing patches so that people stuck with EC keys at least can use them somehow...

please assist
Mr. Lindstrom,
I am trying to upgrade from ssh1 to ssh2. I am getting the following error when I start sshd:
Disabling protocol version 2. Could not load host key
SSHD does start, however, ssh1 is functional, but ssh2 is not.
Please advise,

OSF/1 or Tru64 patch for Privsep
Either this never made it to the list or no one cares about Tru64. This
is the last time I'll send this patch to the list. If no one steps up and
finishes it or provides me with enough information to fix any remaining
bugs (one being complaint that 'ssh site cmd' does not work right).
If there is no activity on this for a week. I'll post it to bugzilla and

Call for testing for 3.6
We are heading into a lock here. So we need to get people to test their
respective platforms if they wish them to be supported out of the tar file.
So if you have any patches you need to ensure your platform works speak
up. We are looking at a lock on the 17th.
I believe I have an AIX/Cray patch and a Tru64 patch sitting in my mailbox
that I'll be looking at soon and more than likely

This is my first time installing ssh and I am getting the following error:

Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)?

3.6 portable ready.
The Cray and tru64 patches I have, have been applied. Unless there is any
major "oh my god it does not work". I believe 3.6 should now be ready for
release soon.
I'd like to thank everyone for providing feedback on the status of
their their platform. Hopefully, we have not missed any platform that is
commonly used.

Status of SCP vulnerability
I worked on a proposal like this a few years back (including proof of
concept code).? I taught sftp to have an scp personality (closer to scp2
than scp), and it was rejected by the higher ups.? It may have been the
dual-personality issue, but I know the scp2 concept was also rejected at
the time as it was stated there should be one transfer tool.
But the only way to drag scp into this century

Testing Call
Ok.. I'm starting official testing calls early this release. I'd like to
have more feedback and more time for handling fixes.
If people could test snapshots (http://www.openssh.org/portable.html, pick
your favorate mirror and select snapshots directory) and report failures
it would be useful.
For those with pmake install there is regress/ which you can try out. It
may help any platform

Patch so that sshd makes use of PAM_USER
<<pam_user.patch>>
Hello. I created a patch that causes sshd to take notice of the value of PAM_USER after calling into the pam_xxx functions. This makes it possible for a PAM module to effect user mappings by setting the value of PAM_USER with pam_set_item(). If anyone has comments or suggestions, let me know.
Thanks,
Jeremy

issue with 3.7.1p2
Hello,
I have recently download and compiled version 3.7.1p2 of openssh, but am
having authentication issues with it. I have been using 3.6.1p1 with no
problems. Both versions were compiled on the same Solaris 8 host. That
host uses ldap for its name service. Both were compiled using the same
openssh config options:
--prefix=/opt/openssh --with-pam --with-zlib=/opt/openssh/lib
However, the

In fact, both patches work together, apparently.
If I have any issues, I'll post them here.

radius support? (was Re: PAM on OPenBSD for OpenSSH?
Further to my original question about PAM on OpenBSD for OpenSSH,
it may be non-trivial to get any PAM stuff onto OpenBSD (Thanks
to Ben Lindstrom for his suggestion, which I'll try, using a
gnu/loonucks PAM package, any suggestions for which one to use, or
where to get it from? I'm not very clueful when it comes to GNU/linux).
So, I remember in a past life hacking suport for other auth into

I think we need to revisit the whole 64bit integer support.
It has crept from sftp over to scp now. And I think we are at a point
