Installing Lindsey's packages
Dear r-helpers,
I downloaded http://popgen.unimaas.nl/~jlindsey/rcode/rmutil.tar (it
was originally .tgz, but got unzipped by my browser).
Can anyone give me detailed instructions on installing this and
Lindsey's other packages on R version 2.4.0 (2006-10-03)---(powerpc-
apple-darwin8.7.0, locale: C)?

Sortable - can we make one or more elements in a list sticky?
...o a Sortable with horizontal
constraint so that one can drag columns around in a table. Yeeha! It
only works because I''ve manipulated the display property of the th''s,
but no matter - it does work. If anyone is interested in this stuff on
this list, lemme know too,
Regards,

Are James Lindsey's libraries for repeated measures, etc. available for
rw0630? Is so where? If not is it contemplated to port them in the near
future? If not what do I need to do to port them to rw0630?

Hello, I found in the docs that I can change the editor I use on a per vm
bases with the following:
*EDITOR=$your-favorite-editor virsh edit $your-vm-name*
But how do I change it permanently so when I run:
*virsh edit $your-vm-name*
It defaults to my favorite editor (vim)?

This also showcases the option.delay perameter I''ve submitted into
scriptaculous - hold down your mouse for one second on any column other
than Vendor and then drag away ;) The Draggable becomes activated after
1 sec. basically.
Please give me some feedback!
Thanks,

Re-orderable column DataGrid + Patches for Sortable.delay and Sortable.ignorePositionXY
...f the containment area of the sortable''s tag.
To quote someone from the IRC channel explaining the situation before
this option: ''Sortables don''t change places when the mouse is not
above the sortable''s container while dragging". Now they can.

My UPS isn't listed in the supported hardware documentation but I

there any plans to add support? I'll happily get whatever information

Thanks!

mixed effect-models
Hello,
?
I believe that in R, it is not possible to analyze mixed effect-models
when the distribucion is not gaussian (p.e. binomial or poisson), isn't?
?
Somebody can suggest me alternative?

Advice please ...
...ems with installing R on SuSe Linux
version 5.3. As the list only gets problems and doesn't log the
successes, has anyone successfully loaded R on SuSe 5.3? Is this a
feature of 0.62.3 only or do the problems apply also to earlier versions.
2 There was a list of outstanding problems from Jim Lindsey that
have appeared in 0.62.3 that were not there on 0.62.1.
I need to upgrade from RH4.1 Linux and was proposing to use SuSe once the
YasT English problem is solved. Upgrading is always quite a
time-consuming affair, particularly as I will copy /usr/local, /home and

GLMs: Negative Binomial family in R?
Greetings R Users!
I have a data set of count responses for which I have made repeated observations
on the experimental units (stream reaches) over two air photo dates, hence the
mixed effect. I have been using Dr. Jim Lindsey's GLMM function found in his
"repeated" measures package with the "poisson" family.
My problem though is that I don't think the poisson distribution is the right
one to discribe my data which is overdispersed; the variance is greater than
the mean. I have read that the...

Problems with compilation of R packages.
Hello
I want to compile some R-packages under windows (rmutil and revent for
instance from Pr Lindsey)
I followed the instrictions given in the help. The compilation succeeded,
but I can't run the programs.
I receive the message: "error in dyn.oad(file): unable to load shared
library "C:\R\Rwo650/library/rmutil"
LoadLibrary failure.
I found the given path quite strange!...

I have pulled Jim Lindsey's repeated library and put it under the

Running R COMPILE *.c and *.f goes fine except that Mathlib.h cannot be
found - it is not in the include library. I cannot find any other
Mathlib.h on my system anywhere - presumably thi...
