Rose Diagrams
Hi,
Is it possible to create Rose Diagrams of wind data (speed & direction) with
R??
Best regards,

sort of repeated measures analysis in R? I've exhausted my available R
resources and done a pretty good search of the help archives without
finding a clear answer.
Thanks much!

changing coordinates?
I just detected R and have, after browsing the manual, one question:
I look for quite a lot of time for graphical software which allows to
plot data from a table or external file _with the axes of the coordinate
system changed_, i.e. the x-axis should run from top left to bottom
left, and the y-axis from top-left to top-right. It is of no use to
interchange the rows in the table, the

Changing Colors
Hello,
I've got a big problem. I'm using R for geostatistical analyses, especially
the field-package.
I try to generate plots after the kriging process with help of
image.plot(..., col=terrain.colors, ...). Everything works fine, but I want
to reverse the color-palettes (heat.colors, topo.colors or gray()) to get
darkest colors at highest data-values instead the other way round.
Could

Is there a way to find out length(col) (BTW, does col=color?) so that I can
readjust the label locations (at=...), or have I completely missed
something obvious that would quickly fix this up?

Mixed model ANOVA with a nested design
Dear all,
I've got a big problem. I try to analyse my data using R with a mixed model
ANOVA without useful results and success.
My data are as follows:
3 factors (Treatment, Site, Subsite) with 'Subsite' as random factor and
nested into 'Site'.
I want to analyse the effects of the three main effects (factorial design to
a specified degrees (2)) with the interactions between

CRAN packages maintained by you
Hi Kurt,
I have started to look into this, and I need some guidance about how to
prioritize my repairs. There are basically 4 categories of warnings from
gfortran?s pedantic critique of my packages:
1. Some errant tab characters it doesn?t like,
2. Too many or too few continue statements
3. Horrible (and obsolescent) arithmetic and computed gotos
4. undeclared doubles and dubious

implementing ecological models in R
Hi all,
we found, that R is not only *the* superior data analysis, graphics and
statistics package, but it is also a general tool for implementing,
running and teaching ecological models. Last week we held our second
course "Modelling in Limnology" using R. Some material (code and docs)
was produced for this purpose and may be interesting to someone else, so
I put the tutorial "Konstruktion ?kologischer Modelle mit der Open
Source Software R" on my homepage.
The tutorial covers
* a short introduction,
* some simple regress...

I have gotten this message with other packages that have worked fine in the past such as VGAM.
Any insight you may have into the matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

WANTED: Q&A
First, I am really liking what I have seen so far in R. The demos are
quite fascinating, and I look forward to doing some really neat stuff
over the next little while with R.
Being but an intiate to R, I am having quite a bit of trouble figuring
out how to use the leaps library. Rather than ask several questions to
the list at large, I would rather explain what I'm trying to do to
someone in

Any pointers are greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

Plot of Canonical Correlation Analysis
Dear all,
I didn't find any graphical solution in the package "mva" to plot the
canonical scores from a CCA (canonical correlation analysis).
Does anybody knows how to plot or has anybody already programmed :
- the map of the canonical scores,
- the graph of the canonical weights,
- the correlation circle i.e. the canonical loadings ?
Thank you for help ...
