configure statement for R-devel with updated zlib in user account
...vel, the ./configure --help doesn't give me a simple-enough
explanation of what I'm supposed to do. I thought I had a solution by
adding this
--with-libpth-prefix=$HOME/packages
but still rejection, new zlib not found.

something wrong in package submission procedure/website
...org/web/checks/check_results_rockchalk.html).
The problem is that the package check has a report on the PREVIOUS
rockchalk 1.8.92, not the one I uploaded yesterday.
So none of the beautiful repairs I implemented show up :(

If not, would you please consider putting a workaround like mine into

Please explain your workflow from R code -> package -> R code -> package
...In other languages, I've seen to write the documentation inside the
code files and then post-process to make the documentation. Is there
a similar thing for R, to unify the R code development and
documentation/package-making process?

sprof works on your Debian/Ubuntu ?
...I guess.
I already tried to do this with gprof applied to the specific package,
but no profile is produced. I believe that means I need to re-build
all of R with the -pg flag, and I'm a bit reluctant to break
everything by doing that.

R for Mac 10.3.9
....
My student has a Macintosh with OSX 10.3.9. The R for Mac says it is
for 10.4.4 or higher.
Aside from saying "get a new Mac," what can be said to my student?
Can you point me at the newest version of R that did work on 10.3 ?

If there is none, don't you think it would be fun if there were?

"What Calls What" diagram. Flow Chart?
...not asking for a conceptual UML diagram, so far as I know.
The kind of trace information you get with gdb in C programs and
shallow steps with "n" would probably help. I would not need to keep
attaching more functions with debug.

think it needs:

I am attaching a patch file that will make these changes if it is
applied to the R-2.9.0 tree.

Plot and Boxplot in the same graph
Hii,
Is it possible, to use the plot() funktion and the boxplot() funktion
together ?
I will plot a simple graph and additionally to the graph on certain places
boxplots. I have imagined to plot the graph a little bit transparency and
show in the same graph on certain places boxplots....
Is it possible to do it in this way ?
greetings,
johnh

We've been running simulations on our cluster with the
portableParallelSeeds framework for 2 years, we've never had any
trouble. We are able to re-start runs, verify random number draws in
separate streams.

Sweave: trouble controlling Design package startup output
...how to make it stop?
I've seen this kind of output with a couple of other packages over the
past 2 months, but I can't find the files that produced them, so I
can't cite the examples. But I don't think it is confined to Design.
