lme newbie question
Hi
I try to implement a simple 2-factorial repeated-measure anova in the
lme framework and would be grateful for a short feedback
-my dependent var is a reaction-time (rt),
-as dependent var I have
-the age-group (0/1) the subject belongs to (so this is a
between-subject factor), and
-two WITHIN experimental conditions, one (angle) having 5, the other
3 (hands) factor-levels;

Computation of AIC for gls models
Dear Colleagues,
We are using the phylog.gls.fit() function from the R package "PHYLOGR" (Diaz-Uriarte R, Garland T: PHYLOGR: Functions for phylogenetically based statistical analyses. 2007. Available at [http://cran.r-project.org/web/packages/PHYLOGR/index.html]) to correct for lack of independence between data points. (In our particular case, the lack of independence is due to

Offset in glm poisson using R vs Exposure in Stata
R-helpers,
I am hoping to find someone who uses both R and program Stata for GLMs.
I am a beginner R user, finding my own way through; learning code etc. at the same time as learning the statistics I need to complete my project.
What I have is the code from Stata and am trying to reproduce the same analysis in R - my program of choice.

How to do generalized linear mixed effects models
I want to analyze binary, multinomial, and count outcomes (as well as
the occasional continuous one) for clustered data.
The more I search the less I know, and so I'm hoping the list can
provide me some guidance about which of the many alternatives to choose.
The nlme package seemed the obvious place to start. However, it seems
to be using specifications from nls, which does non-linear

simple test of lme, questions on DF corrections
I''m a physicist working on fusion energy and dabble in statistics
only occasionally, so please excuse gaps in my statistical
knowledge. I''d appreciate any help that a real statistics expert
could provide. Most people in my field do only very simple
statistics, and I am trying to extend some work on multivariate
linear regression to account for significant between-group

PXElinux bootscreens
I have not found in your documentation any discussion of Graphical frontends
to PXElinux (a la Syslinux).
Is this possible, or likely in the future?

Exponential, Weibull and log-logistic distributions in glm()
Dear R-users!
I would like to fit exponential, Weibull and log-logistic via glm() like
functions. Does anyone know a way to do this? Bellow is a bit longer
description of my problem.
Hm, could family() be adjusted/improved/added to allow for these distributions?
SAS procedure GENMOD alows to specify deviance and variance functions to
help in such cases. I have not tried that option and I do not

log likelihood and deviance
I'm fitting glm models and the summary gives the deviance of the model .
I would like to obtain the log likelihood
How can I do ?
Thanks

Overdispersed poisson - negative observation
Dear R users
I have been looking for functions that can deal with overdispersed poisson
models. Some (one) of the observations are negative. According to actuarial
literature (England & Verall, Stochastic Claims Reserving in General
Insurance , Institute of Actiuaries 2002) this can be handled through the
use of quasi likelihoods instead of normal likelihoods. The presence of
negatives is not
