Installing Cent OS from a usb flash drive
I recently acquired a Fujitsu Lifebook 1610. Unfortunately, the machine was missing a lot of the stuff that would've come with it brand new, mainly the usb cdrom drive. Currently, I'm running Fedora on it, and I installed it using a usb flash drive with the help of a program called unetbootin(Probably not spelled right). t...

Extra sheet after printing a job.
...ee how to solve it, but there's a problem. From default the SuSE 8.1 is installed with cups, and I wanted to install it with LPRng. The printers are printing ok from the server, and via samba my printers are also printing fine. But here's the problem. I print from a Fujitsu/Siemens C6155 Lifebook computer, and whether I print via samba to either of the 2 printers, they always stop a job by sending out an extra sheet. In the archives there stands: Uncommenting #PRINT_RAW_SUPPRESS_FORMFEED="yes" in /etc/apsfilterrc. But due to my install of LPRng, I cannot find the apsfilterrc....

FreeBSD-9.1 would not boot on pentium3 laptop
Hello! I have an old Dell Latitude C800 laptop (with Pentium3 CPU in it). FreeBSD 6.3-STABLE was running fine on it, but I decided to update the machine to 9.1-STABLE. Well, neither my own custom kernel, nor even the official 9.1-RELEASE CD1 would boot... In both cases the boot process runs up to detecting uhub0, then either hangs forever or shuts off after a short while. Again, I thought I

Centos 3.6 - unable to configure X
I am trying without success to configure X on a Siemens Laptop Lifebook E8020D. Does anyone have a working XF86Config file that I can try as all I see when starting X is a black screen. I think the problem is down to the monitor not being detected correctly but am unsure how to fix. Thanks Dean

Yukon NIC - again
Hello. I have the same problem as many others, PXELINUX (or rather menu.c32) does not work with Marvell Yukon 88E8055 cards. I have two machines, Fujitsu LIFEBOOK S7110 and P7230 that have the same problem; menu.c32 will not load. The version of Marvell's base code is 1.10.1.3 (20060516), Yukon PXE v5.14.1.3 (20060704), in the machines I have tested. I have tried downgrading the BIOS on the S7110 to a very old version (1.15, current version is 1.28) and...

Problem: Pattern with vertical colored lines on the dom0 screen
Hi list, I have a problem with a new laptop (reproducable on other machines too) and the xen hypervisor. When the hypervisor gets booted with VESA mode 800x600 I see some messages and then the screen contents is switched into a pattern of vertical colored lines and never comes back. In text mode all works well, but later the pattern appears when the X servers starts. I disabled VTd in the bios
