Samba 3.0.7 & adding machines. Wrong primary group.
Hi!
Some time ago (samba 3.0.1?) I added machines to my domain with
'srvmrg.exe' and all went as I expect. IIRC.
If I am now adding machines, all machine-accounts have the initially group
"users" set instead of "machines". But they should't.
| add machine script = useradd -d /dev/null -g machines -s /bin/false %u
This is, because even if adding machines to the

can i access module "files" w/o using client-server?
Hi,
I''m new to puppet and trying to get started using it just in local mode.
My basic question is: how can i reference a static file within the module
(eg in the module''s files/ subdirectory, as described in
http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ModuleOrganisation). I suppose i
could try using a full.absolute path to the file, but that seems to
completely defeat the purpose

Where to store custom providers?
Hi,
While i''ve read the wiki page on development of custom providers (
http://www.reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/ProviderDevelopment), i cannot
find information on where the custom provider''s source file should be
located. My little provider works fine if i copy it to
/usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/puppet/provider/package
but i''d prefer to keep that in tact from the

Ruby Gems and Rails
Hi,
I think this has been discussed previously on the list, so apologies if
I''m covering old ground but I''ve been using puppet to manage a few Rails
applications which have dependencies on quite a few gems, so it''s
getting to be a bit of an onerous task to manage them. It looks like
the command line interface to gems doesn''t really support automated

The behavior of srvmrg.exe with Samba an adding machines
Hi List,
as discussed earlier, adding machines to a domain works in different ways
i you use srvmrg.exe oder adding while joining the domain.
Read about that here:

Strange Behavior accessing shares
Hi List!
The following behavior was tested from Windows and smbclient, with
different user-ids. Samba is PDC. Host is FC2.
My shares:
[projekte]
comment = Projekte
path = /var/smb/share/Projekte
[projekteee]
comment = Projekte
path = /var/smb/share/Projekte
You see, both
