Segmentation fault with vpopmail auth
...45f20 ip 0000000000645f20 sp 00007fff69bd3708 error 15 in dovecot-auth[645000+1000] and so. Then, I tried to recompile dovecot-1.1.12 (original version I had working) but system said the same. After investigation, I saw I had mixed of vpopmail versions. Problem was I had /home/vpopmail/lib/libvpopmail.so in my system. When this file is present, compilation of dovecot link dovocot-auth to dynamic library libvpopmail.so, but it is not necessary since I had my system working using vpopmail without this .so. What I recommend is to compile a fresh vpopmail. Now I am using vpopmail-5.4.32 (at...

Vpopmail Dynamic Authentication Module
...pmail I had to modify the command to build the module, but was able to successfully build it: gcc -shared -fPIC -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -DUSERDB_VPOPMAIL -DPASSDB_VPOPMAIL -I../.. -I../lib -I/home/vpopmail/include -I/home/vpopmail/lib userdb-vpopmail.c passdb-vpopmail.c -o vpopmail.so -L/home/vpopmail/lib/libvpopmail.a I am unable to get the module to load properly. Dovecot built with --with-vpopmail works perfectly. When I start dovecot and it tries to load the module it reports: Aug 23 16:48:18 ctd-nix1 dovecot: Dovecot v1.0.7 starting up Aug 23 16:48:18 ctd-nix1 dovecot: auth(default): dlopen(/usr/lib64/...

Ubuntu 9.x segmentation fault with vpopmail auth
...ed version of the library. I tried latest releases dovecot 1.0, 1.1, and 1.2. Also latest mercurial pulls of 1.1 and 1.2. Even old versions of courier-imap and courier-authlib do it, but with these I can try older versions of vpopmail cause they don't require the dynamically linked version of libvpopmail. So I'm thinking it is something with Ubuntu 9.04 and pretty much all third party vpopmail authentication code. Strangely qmail-pop3d works fine with vchkpwd, just I cannot find any IMAP server that will work no matter what combination of vpopmail and version of the IMAP server. If anyone can...

imap and vpopmail: per-domain auth
Hi, i have qmail + vpopmail + dovecot + squirrelmail 0.99.14 on Fedora Core 4. Qmail includes its own pop3 server, and everybody is able to access it from outside. Dovecot is used only locally by SquirrelMail - so everybody can access via webmail. I'd like to make imap directly available from outside, but only for a few selected domains (NOT ip addresses!), while leaving everyone able to

Hello list, During the 'make check' (pigeonhole) portion of a building (rpmbuild) a dovecot.spec file I'm getting the following error: testsuite(root): Fatal: Couldn't drop privileges: User is missing UID (see mail_uid setting) I'm not sure how to resolve this, and any help would be appreciated to help me finish the creating the rpm -- Eric Broch White Horse Technical
