Hi I am trying to upgrade to samba 3.2 with the experimental package for rhel5 64 bit from sernet. it tells me i have to install libtalloc.so.1()(64bit) first. where do i get this? "yum provides libtalloc.so.1" does not find anything. thanks urs

I do have the 4.3.3 sources. The only configure flag i set was --enable-debug. I can execute that install, however the issue of unwanted libs still lingers. I'm confused, is it or is it not an issue that i have libtld, libtalloc and pytalloc libs in /usr/lib? And if it is an issue whats the best path forward to resolve it? Packagers have been able to get around this; but, users installing from source will have a difficult time or need to create the symbolic links themselves. The effected files on my build are libnetapi.so.0, libtalloc.so.1, libtdb.so.1 and libwbclient.so.0. I've tried Samba 3.2.14, 3.3.7, and 3.4 (source3). In each instance, smbd was missing libtalloc.so.1 libtdb.so.1 libwbclient.so.0 as reported by ldd.
