Installing Ruby 2.0.0-p0 using Rbenv on Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS
I am having a problem installing Ruby 2.0.0-p0 using rbenv install on
Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS. I have clean version of Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS running on
Virtualbox.
I am getting this error and the build is failing. I think I read that the
new RubyGems requires https.
I have tried rbenv install --with-openssl-dir=/usr/bin, but with no success.
The Ruby openssl extension was not compiled. Missing

Building R under Linux - library dependencies
Hello and apologies if this doesn't belong here.
I'm trying to build a "portable" version of R - "portable" means that it could be easily moved to another location or machine simply by copying it. However, I encountered a problem when running it elsewhere: it seems that versions of dynamic libraries used by R are fixed and set at the build time; when that instance of R

bash: rails: command not found
Hey,
I''ve checked my gems env, appears to be fine.
Is there anything else I can check to see why it is not recognising the
Rails command?
I have read a number of post and they all seem to point back to PATH.
BTW: Using Ubuntu OS.
Cheers,
James

How can I get RVM/Passenger/Apache2 to play nicely together
Hello all,
Can anyone point me to any solid documentation on how to set up a
production server using RVM, Passenger, and Apache2? I have been at
this for a week with absolutely no luck at all so I thought I would
post here to see if anyone has managed to get this to work and written
down the steps they used.
Right now with my current implementation, I am getting a 404 error

What do you have installed as far as libcurl goes? Would you mind
listing your packages and greping for libcurl entries.
Perhaps I need some libcurl debs installed when I install r-base?

I tried this on Ubuntu with R-2.14.1 built from source, and I do not get
the segfault problem. (I don't at the moment have a debian binary R, or
I would confirm whether I get the segfault problem.) My sessioninfo() is
