Computing pcm size
Hello, given a Speex-encoded ogg file, is there a way I can compute the total pcm size (that is, the number of samples after decompression)? I know I can get the frame size from the decoder with SPEEX_GET_FRAME_SIZE, and that the number of frames per packet is written inside the header. But this brings me to the question: how many packets are there in the file? I guess this is more related to

...general form to handle granule-stamped encoded and decoded multimedia data). It will, as per configuration, launch a seperate application when an unknown codec is encountered (which may, in turn, contact a service at Xiph.org to find a plugin for that codec, download it, and retry the stream). liboggfile will provide basically the same functionality as libvorbisfile with the addition of encoding support using liboggstream. It'll be the (de)muxer with seeking on decode with callbacks used for both input and output, basic file and buffer callback functions will be provided with the library of...

FLAC in Ogg & metadata
Hi All, I was wondering if there's any way to edit metadata associated with a FLAC stream that has been encoded inside an ogg transport layer. Specifically, the vorbiscomment tool only deals with vorbis data; it can't even open the .ogg file if it contains .flac data. The metaflac tool, on the other hand, will work with .flac files but doesn't seem to understand FLAC data inside an

Go back a few days on the list and read what I wrote about what I'm doing with the liboggstream vs liboggfile split, OggStream is basically an Ogg codec plugin handler, processing data on the packet level only, leaving muxing, seeking, etc to higher level code. It's designed to be used by existing frameworks and is no more complicated than the rest of libogg2. However, if Windows isn't one of...

Well, we're talking about an uncompressed format. OggMNG is already "FLAC for video". However, it doesn't do

Ogg MIDI proposal
This is a proposal for Ogg MIDI streams. It will also help other stream additions to Vorbis, as they should follow a similar model. Ralph has done much of the work on this, and also is working on MNG Ogg streams. Background ---------- I was contracted to do this work, so even if you can't think of a use for this, there is one ;) Basically with midi in Ogg, we can have a synchronized
