Samba-4.3 on FreeBSD-10.3
I have created a Samab AD-DC on a FreeBSZD-10.3 host. The setup checks out and I am able to join the domain from a Win7 workstation and run the ADUC management console in RAST. I have opened the UNIX Attributed properties tab for "Domain Admins" in the ADUC and set the unix properties. However, I get this notice "UNIX Attributes Unwilling To Perform" and after making the

Klaus ---- On page Setting_up_Samba_as_an_Active_Directory_Domain_Controller the section Configuring Winbindd on a Samba AD DC is not necessary, because the same info is also included in the next section. ---- The page https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Libnss_winbind_Links recommends "uname -i" but that does not work in Debian because https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=655428 (it does work in Ubuntu). self compiled samba domain member, jessie, pam config
Hi, I installed a debian jessie machine, compiled/installed samba 4.3.1, configured as a domain member server, configured winbind: all working nicely. Great docs on the wiki. (https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/Setup_a_Samba_AD_Member_Server) One remaining thing: How do I exactly configure pam_winbind in the setup above? On the wiki I read that debian uses pam-auth-update. That does not seem

Problem with libnss_winbind.so.2
Good afternoon people. Wiki'm following procedure: RHEL based OSIf you have compiled Samba yourself on a RHEL based OS, to have your domain users and groups available locally on your Domain Member, you need to place two links in your /lib64 folder:# ln -s /usr/local/samba/lib/libnss_winbind.so /lib64# ln -s /lib64/libnss_winbind.so /lib64/libnss_winbind.so.2# ldconfig But does not charge.
