Special BLAS and explcit parallel code
...is used? Do
you agree? I could not find the presentation of R Bivand on this... Any
other references on this question?
Secondly, I am a little bit confused about how this is done on Ubuntu.
First of all.... I am not sure of which BLAS is actually being used... a
dpkg -l indicated me that both liblas (-dev and 3gf) and libatlas
(3gf-base) are installed... Doing:
$ ls -n /usr/lib/R/lib/
total 2528
-rw-r--r-- 1 0 0 2583076 2011-02-26 04:21 libR.so
I don't see which one is used actually... how can I figure out?
Thanks!

Optimize R: some confusion with Lapack and OpenBlas/openBlas openmp packages.
...ondering if such Intel stuff (with its paid licencing) and the
need to build my own R package is really worth.
Do anyone have some realistic point of view/advice?
Then, in case I gave up with the Intel stuff, I am confused between
the Lapack package and Openblas one. I know first one will provide
liblas.so.3 when second one libopenblas.so. Am i right to say I only
need one blas library and the openBlas one is the one to get? Can I
use instead the openmp version of openblas, or shall I installed both?
here again, I am a litle confused.
As for the liblapack.so.3, I will get it from the Fedora lapack...

Hard lock with 4.14.0-2
I am running Debian testing and updated my system this morning which
included a new kernel: 4.14.0.2-amd64
After this update, my system froze twice -- both times the exact same
behavior.
In both situations, the system froze while I was resizing a window.
The mouse cursor froze, clock stopped, num lock stopped working. I
didn't check if the system responded to pings from a remote machine,
