I've been trying to get samba to integrate with a Win2000 ADS, with very limited success.. but from recent postings I think I have found my problem. I am only using libkrb 1.2.4. I know I need 1.3.3, but don't particularly want to compile from source. I'm running a Debian Stable machine, so was wondering if anyone knows of where I can get a backport to woody of the newest Kerberos

Does anyone know where I can find the needed Debian packages for installing Kerberos 1.3.1? >From what I've been told I need these for ADS support in Samba. There are no backports for Kerberos 1.3 or higher. If anyone has any suggestions besides building from source, I'd like to hear them. Thanks, Brian

Hi all, I have a debian linux lenny 5.0 server with samba (version 3.2.5-4lenny14) on it. I want to create a cifs share which uses Active Directory authentication. In all howto's i read that i need kerberos5 to do this, so I installed krb5-user, krb5-config and libkrb53. I edited /etc/krb5.conf to my domain etc. Everything works like it should. BUT i noticed a file in /var/run/samba/smb_krb5 (krb5.conf.TESTDOMAIN) that seems to be generated by winbind. Hi all, I successfully joined my Samba 3.0.6 box to our AD tree. wbinfo -t and -u work as expected.
