...o possible to store your plugin in your profile if you want to > install the plugin only for your account. in this case you can either > use ~/.mozilla/plugins (for all profiles) or [Profile directory]/plugins > for a specific profile. In /usr/lib64/mozilla/plugins there is a symlink from libjavaplugin.so to /usr/lib64/IcedTeaPlugin.so I changed that to point to /usr/java/jre1.8.0_144/lib/amd64/libnpjp2.so but I got the exact same results. I also tried renaming the pluginreg.dat file. No joy.

Java plugin (icedtea-web) does not load
Hi, After some recent upgrade or the other, the browser plugin for java no longer works in my CentOS 6 x86_64 setup - using Firefox. Applets won't load, and no java plugin is mentioned in "about:plugins". The "openjdk" Java packages as well as icetea-web are installed, though, and everything worked just fine a few weeks ago. Has anyone else seen this? Any idea what may be

If you are running SELinux in Enforcing Mode, you may see an AVC error pop-up in the SELinux Troubleshooting Panel Applet. Use the following command: sudo restorecon -v /opt/jre1.6/plugin/i386/ns7/libjavaplugin_oji.so which will re-set the SELinux context for the newly installed Java plug-in file. At that point, if all is well, you should subsequently get proper results from the search applet. You may need to exit from Firefox and use help.start() again just to be sure that any residual issues are not p...
