I'll generalise it, transfer it to the wiki and tidy up the installation page

Installation issues:
The configure script seems to have a small glitch in that for the
packages liblame-dev libxvidcore4-dev libx264-dev libfaac-dev libfaad2-dev it
detects only that the library is installed and *not* the headers required to
build. Eg if liblame is installed configure will complete, however make will
bug out until liblame-dev is installed. Not sure if this is working as
intended - it's not true for the other librari...

conference talks
Hi,
I just wanted to report that I organised a meeting last September and
we recorded all talks and I asked computer support to convert
everything into ogg theora... Maybe you want the link?? The talks are
also very interesting if you are interested in Astrophysics and black
holes...

However I am trying to install on a Fedora server and the repositories
mentioned in the above how-to are for Debian. I'm having difficulty
tracking down all the relevant Fedora repos for some of these
components:
libogg0 libogg-dev libvorbis0a libvorbis-dev liblame0
liblame-dev libfaac0 libfaac-dev libfaad0 libfaad-dev libmad0
libmad0-dev libflac8 libflac-dev automake libtool
Ideally I think I'd like to be pointed towards a Fedora repo
equivalent to the Debian multimedia one in the example above.
A solution might be for me to create a fresh Debian [virtual] machine
and go w...

How to make the audio header data for Speex for RTMP ?
Hi all.
libfaac has faacEncGetDecoderSpecificInfo function for decorder specific
info that works as the audio header for RTMP live stream.
How to make the header for Speex ?

AAC encoders?
Now that Icecast 2.2 supports AAC encoded streams, I'm looking around
for an encoder that will take raw-audio->AAC for a live stream on a
Linux platform. I glanced at the docs for Darkice and StreamTranscoder
as well as some other 3rd-party apps listed on icecast.org but none seem
to encode to AAC.
Any suggestions?

AAC
Hello all,
I would like to know what kind of AAC can stream icecast 2.2.0. Is it MPEG-2 AAC or MPEG-4 AAC? How much efficiency can be gained by using this kind of AAC compared to MP3?

Libshout and reencoding
Hi
I am working on bindings for Common Lisp.
It works great. But I miss support for reencoding.
Do you have any plans to support reencoding in the future?

Streaming AAC with libshout?
Hi Greg,
thank you for recommendation but my question is related to a different
topic.
I would rather say that Orban should finally notice that selling standalone
windows app is not a solution for everyone as it does not integrate well
with SaaS solutions.
