I'm trying to install wine 1.1.12_i386. I'm using debian etchnhalf 4.0. I've extracted all the files to my home directory then used the the GDeb package installer to try and install the program when I got the error message: Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libasound2? I'm a totally new user and debian is the only OS currently on my system. Thanks for the help and suggestions in advance.

Soundcard detection failing
...efault Mixer Tracks device is "HDA Intel (Alsa Mixer)" with "Master" highlighted in the box below. DONE SO FAR: I don't rightly know all that I've done up to this point but I reversed most of it after it failed. I have downloaded and installed some packages (alsa-oss, libasound2, lib64asound2 (though I don't think I have a 64 bit system), libasound2-dev, lib64asound2-dev, libasound2-plugins). I greatly appreciate any help!

wine-1.1.23 & e-Sword
...I have downloaded the deb pkg for 1.1.23 and I have uninstalled v.1.1.26 and in the Software Sources I tried disabling the wine source but when I try to use debbie to install it I'm informed that the dependencies cannot be satisfied because of libasound2 but in Synaptic I find libasound2 v.1.0.15-3ubuntu4 is installed. I have reinstalled the latest version until somebody a lo smarter than I can tell how to roll back to v. 1.1.23. I thank-you folks for your patients and for your guidance. W...

Compiling - WARNING: No OpenGL library found on this system.
I downloaded Wine sources with Git. Now when I cd to wine-git folder and do ./configure, at the end I get a message: Code: "configure: WARNING: No OpenGL library found on this system. OpenGL and Direct3D won't be supported. configure: Finished. Do 'make depend && make' to compile Wine." I installed all packages from this script - http://kegel.com/wine/hardy.sh

alsa not available in winecfg under karmic?
I upgraded to karmic yesterday, and ran winecfg. The list of possible sound systems has shrunk to three: oss, jack and eSound. I tried running winecfg plain, and with padsp and pasuspender prefixes. Susan

Directdraw and Wine Compilation
Hi, I am trying to compile wine in an AMD64 Ubuntu machine, taking the precautions needed shown in the winehq's wiki to do it. The compilation finishes fine, but for some reason there is no support for some things that used to have in the i386 pre-compiled package. One of them is ALSA sound. I use ALSA because for some reason OSS sometimes ruins the sound making it look like a loud scratch

Is there any way of using ALSA with pulseaudio in WINE?
Im running openSUSE 11.1. Just wondering if it's possible to use pulseaudio with ALSA, ALSA driver doesn't shop up in the audio section of winecfg.

How to compile WINE with ALSA support
Hi everyone. I recently had to compile WINE myself. It took some time to figure out how to do it but in the end I was successful. The problem is that now I only have OSS support. ALSA (was pulseaudio there, too?) is/are gone from the "Audio" tab in winecfg. How do I compile WINE with ALSA support? Where can I find more info on how to do this? Thank you. :)

Installing latest Wine on Debian
I installed Wine using the Lamaresh repo for Debian, but unlike openSUSE's repos, I found out that it installs and old version: 1.1.42. Is there some repo for Debian where I can install latest version from? Or should I better try building it from source? Sorry if it's a silly question. Thanks.

no sound drivers noob
okay so i recently changed to Linux mint after Ubuntu finally got to me to much. so my problem is i imediatley installed wine 1.5.1 and it works great (aside from a few issues with my proprietary graphics driver), But in the audio tab it says "selected driver: (none)" and there is no drop down box to choose any other, so basically i have no sound. I am a noob and a step by step guide

Bug#635166: Please enable audio support in xen-qemu

Having a build-depends on libbluetooth-dev would also be a good idea to enable bluetooth support in xen-qemu-dm. Thanks for considering the above, Cheers, Thomas Goirand -- System Information: Deb...
