[PATCH] tools: don't expand prefix and exec_prefix too early
...n''t get expanded at configure
time.
The patch is fixing tools/m4/default_lib.m4 as far as I can see myself
doing this, but imo it is flawed altogether and should rather be
removed:
- setting prefix and exec_prefix to default values is being done later
in tools/configure anyway
- setting LIB_PATH based on the (non-)existence of a lib64 directory
underneath ${exec_prefix} is plain wrong (it can obviously exist on a
32-bit installation)
- I wasn''t able to locate any use of LIB_PATH
(I did see IanC''s comment in c/s 25594:ad08cd8e7097 that removing it
supposedly causes oth...

make install not creating lib entries in /usr/lib under Ubunu 11.10
I am building xen-unstable (23860:a422e2a4451e) on Ubuntu 11.10. I
noticed that the "make install" does not create lib entries in
/usr/lib/. I see them only in /usr/lib64/. This is causing program
like xenpaging to not find the xenctrl library (error while loading
shared libraries: libxenctrl.so.4.2: cannot open shared object file:
No such file or directory) Is this expected behavior or

in it''s init.rb, and it didn''t even spit those out. So, I dug into the
initializer.rb (/vendor/rails/railties/lib/initializer.rb) to see wtf is
going on, and found the problem... but... can''t explain it. Here is the
code in question:

has_lib = File.directory?(lib_path)

Modules in lib not follwing naming convension
Hej! Okey i have a problem, i have earlier written a set of classes in
ruby implementing a msrp chat client and now im trying to use it in my
rails app.
The msrp implementation consists of several files and most of the
functions and classes in those files ar encapsulated in a module lets
call it X. so for instance they look like this
header.rb
module X
class Z
...
end
end
The problem now

Help understanding LAPACK symbol resolution

To allow the user to provide a specific LAPACK, I added lines to a

AC_ARG_WITH([lapack],
AC_HELP_STRING([--with-lapack=LIB_PATH],

added a check to see that zsysv_ is actually available

AC_MSG_ERROR([lapack needs zsysv_ in ${LAPACK_LIBS}]))
and substituted LAPACK_LIBS into a Makevars.in file

that is already searched for libs (e.g. /usr/lib/)
1) Set the environment variable LD_LIBRARY_PATH to "/your/samba/library/path"
before starting the samba applications.
(This is the variable name for linux, solaris, netbsd, irix, ...)
the variable is called SHLIB_PATH on HP-UX, LIB_PATH on AIX
and DYLD_LIBRARY_PATH on darwin.)
2) Add a line with the folder containing your samba libs to /etc/ld.so.conf
(or a dedicated file /etc/ld.so.conf.d/samba_foo.conf which has to be
included in /etc/ld.so.conf)
3) build your binaries with an rpath:

Can you add an option to select the ruby interpreter for rake task?
...y Rakefile. But the generated command is
ruby -I.. blabla
it should be "ruby1.9 -I... blabla", but after look at the code
of spectask.rb, I found this line:
==> cmd = "ruby "
rb_opts = ruby_opts.clone
rb_opts << "-I\"#{lib_path}\""
rb_opts << "-S rcov" if rcov
rb_opts << "-w" if warning
The "ruby" is hard-coded into it. May I request this to be an
customizable option so that I can set it to "ruby1.9"?

GOMP was ok (w/o any warnings) for me for ages.

minus I and minus L flags
I have been RTFM/doc/www, but I'm still lost.
How does one tell R CMD INSTALL and R CMD check (both) that libraries
are installed in non-usual places and so -I/APPS/include (or whatever)
is necessary in CPPFLAGS and -L/APPS/lib (similarly) is necessary
in LDFLAGS?
I know I can hardwire them in pkg/src/Makevars, but this requires hand
editing of that file by each installer (yuck!)

[PATCH 0 of 1 v2] tools: honour --libdir when it is passed to ./configure
I''ve removed all the LIBLEAF bits in this version, but kept passing
the libfsimage plugin location via compiler command line.
If there''s a better way to do this, I''m certainly open to it. But
looking at it further today I think this isn''t too horrible.
