logrotate and regular expressions
I am trying to use logrotate to rotate our web logs for our various vhosted sites to cut down on space and rotate out old logs that are not necessary to keep around personally. What Im curious to find out, is how supported extended regular expressions is within the logrotate.conf file. More specifically, will logrotate be smart enough to decipher the following:

OpenSSH multiple private key question
I am using CentOS 4.5 with OpenSSH_3.9p1 and I am curious if anyone has a solution for this scenario. I have several pub/priv keys that I use for various tasks/reasons. My issue is that I want to have 2 private keys stored in ~/.ssh/ and I am not sure the best way to accomplish that. Currently I am using ssh-agent, and it works fine for manually performing tasks. I was curious if there

School environment, remote administration. On night time the electrical power is turned off in labs and PC loose WakeOnLan(WOL) and AlertStandardFormat(ASF) capabilities. In the morning when the

Hi list I?m in the process of switching from a RedHat EL 4 to CentOS 5, and run into some problems I?m trying to open a X session to my Centos box, and got an error message stating that /usr/X11R6/bin/xterm is not found. 3.53-pre5 released - release candidate
Hi all, I have received a fair number of bug reports over the last few weeks -- even days -- and I am therefore declaring 3.53-pre5 a release candidate for a 3.53 bug fix release. This 3.53 will not contain either of the two major features under development -- client side state (including boot-once) and gPXE integration -- since I want to avoid destabilizing the code base beyond the bug

XenApi
I originally posted this to the xenapi mailing list but i dont think many are on there... here''s my question. My first attempt at this, trying to get php to interface with /var/run/xend/xen-api.sock (or even 127.0.0.1:9363 for that matter). I can make a connection to both the unix socket and the inet socket and write/read data. The problem is i always get the same responce back, also

[OT]: Passing password for a command on the fly
Hi, First things first, sorry for the off-topic, but I've already burned my eyes Googling and couldn't find the answer to what I need and I remembered asking here, because I'm a long time CentOS and its mailing list user. Again, my apologies. I have this command to create an FTP account: # pure-pw useradd mario -u 502 -g 502 -n 1000 -N 200 -d /home/pages/mario This command asks for

Live migration: 2500ms downtime
Hi there, I''ve read the paper on Xen live migration, and it shows some very impressive figures, like 165ms downtime on a running web server, and 50ms for a quake3 server. I installed CentOS 5 on 2 servers, each with 2x Xeon E5335 (quad-core), 2x Intel 80003ES2LAN Gb NICs. Then I installed 2 DomUs, also with CentOS 5. One NIC is connected to the LAN (on the same switch and VLAN), the

"pre-OS"
Ok, syslinux is what it is, and I love the way it just works. I looked up linuxBios and found what I was looking for. A project in 2000 called "LOBOS (Linux OS Boots Linux OS): Booting a Kernel in 32-bit Mode? It looks like this would do what I need, but I can't find any working code. I like the Idea of booting a simple fail safe system and restarting a production kernel. Yes,

...args[2] will be executed unconditionally, with no check for if it is defined. Maybe replace boot_args(...: args[2]); with: boot_args(...: args[2] ? args[2] : args[1]); Or maybe some other construct so that the ?: isn't used so many times in a row... import SYSTAT .syd file?
Does anyone know how to read a SYSTAT .syd file on Linux? (Splus 6 does it, but it is easier to find a Windows box with Systat than to download their demo. I'm wondering if there is a better way than either of these options.)
