smbtar multiple machines
Hi all, I'm just looking at using smbtar to backup the Win95 PC's on my network, and would like usability ideas please. The tape drive I intend to use is in our RS6000 and has a capacity of 20GB before compression which means that I will be able to fit plenty of PC's onto one tape as all the PC's have <3GB HD's on them. The problem I have is how do I get multiple

Test backups have worked OK, but I'm having problems restoring the

Case sensitivity

I have put the following in to smb.conf case sensitivity = yes preserve case = yes short preserve case = yes which I put in the global section and in to several of the shares sections also, but the

Weirdness
NT 4.0 workstation users are complaining that all of their drive letters are getting used up by what appears to be a rampant network-drive mapping situation. For example, normally I have three shares network-mapped. Lately, ceetain people are complaining that one of their shares get's remapped a number of times to take up all the drive letters (except drive letter Z). So suddenly they
