Code Igniter
Hi all,
I was just made aware of this:
<http://www.codeigniter.com>
I wonder where the inspiration comes from? Lots of very similar
concepts there ;)
I''ve only watched the intro movie so far, but very interesting.

Problem with user type on 0.20.1... uses group "absent"
Hi, I''m running into a problem with the user type with puppet
0.20.1... this worked before with 0.19.x at least, not sure about 0.20.
But I''ve got adduser.pp:
<snip>
define adduser($uid, $gid, $groups="users", $membership="minimum") {
group {
$name:
gid => $gid,
allowdupe => false,

Facter operatingsystemrelease on Fedora
Currently, facter returns the kernel version as both the kernel and
operatingsystemrelease facts. I would like to change that so that on
Fedora, operatingsystemrelease is the release number (5,6,7 etc.) or
''Rawhide'' ... are there any objections to making that change ?

Phones won't stop ringing
We're having an issue that isn't easily googleable so I thought I might might try here.
We have several customers who want all their extensions to ring on incoming calls. Frankly I think it is craziness to ring 11 extensions all at once but that is how they want it.
We're doing this by creating an incoming route that goes to a hunt list containing all the extensions.
This normally

Command line vs config file override for configuration params
Hi all
I''m working on my modular recursive Makefile & svn-backed home for my
Puppet manifests, custom functions, types, etc. So I''m trying to put
together individual modules, test targets and so on.
I have noticed that the $libdir (and probably the other configuration
options too) sources from puppet.conf are not overridden by specifying
--libdir=blah on the commmand line

Re: Coming round to SURS...
i have a question for the people who sponsor the samba team.
"when are you going to realise that your money is being
wasted by not sponsoring me as a design architect on
NT compatibility software suites for unix?"
here - yet again, another demonstration of how much money you have
been wasting.

Please test export/collect from svn
For those of you out there using export/collect (which we really need
to come up with a better name for...), can you test the current SVN
code?
I''m mostly wondering if the performance is any better. To use it,
you''ll have to remove your current database, since the database
schema is significantly changed.
I''m getting what looks like an additional 25% reduction

Recursive permissions
Does anyone know if it''s possible to do the following:
Given the directory structure:
/foo/bar
/foo/bar/<bunch of stuff>
Is it possible to set /foo/bar to, say 555, and all stuff below to 440
or the directory equivalent?
Thanks,
Trevor
