pop 110/995, imap 143/993 ?
Lest anyone think STARTTLS MITM doesn't happen,
https://threatpost.com/eff-calls-out-isps-modifying-starttls-encryption-commands/109325/3/
Not only for security, I prefer port 993/995 as it's just plain simpler
to initiate SSL from the get-go rather than to do some handshaking that
gets you to the same point.

oVirt updates
Hi everyone,
It's been awhile since there have been any updates to the oVirt project
but that's going to be changing shortly. We've re-launched the
http://ovirt.org site and made a number of updates to the wiki.
Additional updates will be coming over the coming days and weeks.
As for the projects themselves, we're changing the focus a little for
the overall oVirt project.

OrcV1 removal
Hi All,
The time has finally come to remove OrcV1. I expect to remove it some time
after the 14th of September. This will remove all the legacy layers, legacy
utilities, the old Orc C bindings, and OrcMCJITReplacement. ExecutionEngine
and MCJIT will *not* be affected by this.
I had hoped to have removable code enabled before deleting OrcV1, but it
turns out that implementing removable code in

How to do a time-stratified case-crossover analysis for air pollution data?
Dear Experts,
I am trying to do a time-stratified case-crossover analysis on air
pollution data and number of myocardial infarctions. In order to avoid
model selection bias, I started with a simple simulation.
I'm still not sure if my simulation is right. But the results I get from
the "ts-case-crossover" are much more variable than those from a glm.
Is this:

RES: OpenSSH with slow login
I gueess it is not a DNS problem, because either using name or IP, I have
always the problem.
I guess the problem is that I am using ssh on inetd.conf (sshd -i), so It
has to generate a key each time I start a session. What do you think ?

SERVFAIL <=> NXDOMAIN
Hello,
we encountered a problem with registry nic.at for tld .at and their
transaction "BillWithDraw". This transaction allows an registrar to
delegate authority back to registry.
For a successful use of this transaction all nameserver-entries for the
zone will be deleted by our application before nic-order will be sent to
nic.at.
Nic.at now checks all nameserver for existing

Using factors in R
Dear R super-users,
I am quite new in using R and I am not managing to edit factors.
Lest suppose that one has the following data:
Factor A
Factor B
Factor C
Claims
Factor A has 3 factors (1,2 and 3). To simplify the glm model I only want to
have 2 factor (let's say 1 and 3).
I should I do this?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards,

No space left on device on not full filesystem
Hello,
We have running lustre 1.8.1 and have met "No space lest on device"
error when uploading 500 Gb small files (less then 100 Kb each).
The problem seems to depends on the number of files. If we remove one
file, we can create one new file, even with Gb size; but if we haven''t
remove something we can''t create even very little file, as an example
using touch

KDE login screen configuration problems
Sorry to be so slow in responding. I've done what you suggested. I created
/etc/sysconfig/desktop
and entered "$DISPLAYMANAGER=KDM". I rebooted but there was no change. GDM is still being used.
Any other suggestions?
mw
========================
Just create the file /etc/sysconfig/desktop and put in it:
DESKTOP=KDM
I believe it's DESKTOP - you can dbl check /etc/X11/prefdm
