Badlock bad luck
Hello, I run a CentOS 6 machine with samba, serving approx. 150 Windows users with samba running as an NT-like PDC. After today's samba update (samba-3.6.23-30.el6_7.x86_64 etc.), nobody can log in. They all get the "Trust relationship failed" error message. If I downgrade: yum downgrade samba-common samba-winbind samba-winbind-clients samba-client samba samba-doc

I had exactly the same problem. Your workaround fixed me too. With the new samba packages my samba\logs are full of errors. If I temporarily disconnected the PC client NIC cable, and logged into the domain using cached credentials, then I could get past the problem. But, you helped me greatly with this posting. I wasted hours checking Windows updates - useless. We still need the new

C6: Suspend on laptop close doesn't work
Hello, I've been running Fedora on my Lenovo X61s laptop for many (Fedora) generations. Fedora 15, however, was not my cup of tea, so I've decided to wipe out Fedora, and do a clean install of CentOS 6 (x86_64). Everything works OK, except that the laptop does not suspend when I close the lid. I've checked the settings in "Power Management", and it is set to suspend when

Storing and restoring sound settings
Hello, I have made a bootable CD (with revisor) of CentOS 6. The CD boots and starts a game automatically (for an exhibition). I have one problem: The default sound settings are not correct. After the machine is booted, I have to open gnome-volume-control, select "Hardware", and select "Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output" under "Profile". How can I set this up

samba problem with kernel 2.6.32-279.*
Hello, We use Norton Ghost, running in a PXE booted DOS, to handle Windows XP images. The images are stored on a samba share on our CentOS 6 server. This has worked without any problems for years. After kernel 2.6.32-279* it has stopped working. The symptom is that if I boot in DOS, and do: net use x: \\myserver\ghostimages dir x: I get an infinite loop where the first file name is listed

[Ferret] Serious memory leak on Joyent / TextDrive / Solaris
There is serious memory leak bug in ferret. I''m having this error on TextDrive Container (aka. Joyent Accelerators) OpenSolaris with Ferret 0.11.4 It happens while searching for some terms with accented or special characters. This makes ferret to allocate lots of memory (usually reaching 3+ GB) and failing if another query like this is executed. Any ideas on that, could this be locale

[ActsAsFerret] OpenSolaris (TextDrive) indexing issues
...t seems that the index is incomplete and is bringing partial results. Any suggestions on what to do? PS:. During the indexing, there is nothing being queried on the DB, actually the unique thing running on that DB was the console where I runned the rebuild_index. Thanks in advance. ::1 in /var/log/httpd/access_log on CentOS 7
I see "MANY" of these ::1 - - [13/Oct/2020:10:46:08 -0500] "OPTIONS * HTTP/1.0" 200 - "-" "Apache/2.4.6 (CentOS) OpenSSL/1.0.2k-fips mod_fcgid/2.3.9 (internal dummy connection)" in the log file. This is not me connecting as ::1 is localhost. What is this - how might I stop it ? Thanks Jerry

Just to follow up, the fix for us was to add "client ipc signing = auto" to our smb.conf configuration file. Thunderbird won't start after move to new box
I've tried moving my Thunderbird profile from one C7 box, a standard PC to another C7 box, a DELL server. I did this by rsync'ing ~/.thunderbird. However, on the new box, Thunderbird only starts if I run it -safe-mode.? If I don't run it in safe mode I see the window flash up and instantly close.? No errors or notifications appear in the terminal window., Anyone got suggestions
