[2.5.6] File table overflow
...usr/local tree (4 Gb)
After transmission of many files I get the error message
rsync error: some files could not be transferred (code 23) at main.c(1045)
According to /usr/include/asm/errno.h the code 23 says
File table overflow
What can I do about that?
Many thanks for a hint,

I've heard it's possible to estimate the above kinds of models in R. However, after (an admittedly brief) survey of the packages, I haven't found an obvious candidate. Can you offer any help? (Yes I'm a newby.)

Non-standard usage of rsync
...these commands to a given
directory.
Is this already possible?
Is it probably difficult to patch rsync to do so?
If yes, can the backup option be told to record new/deleted
files as well. In that case my aims can be achieved at (much)
higher disk space.
Thanks for any hints,

predict.loess and NA/NaN values
...st two.
I was unable to find anything in the manual page that explains this
behaviour or says how to change it. So I'm asking the community: Is
there a way to fix this or do I have to code around it?
This is in R 2.11.1 (Linux), by the way.
Thanks in advance

Is it possible to make hypercall from user application directly?
Hi,
I implemented my own Hypercall in xen.
Now I wish my application under dom0 could talk to Xen via my hypercall.
Currently, I make a stub in dom0''s kernel, which works as a proxy to forward
the request. So, my application first makes a system call to dom0, which
then makes hypercall to xen.
Is this design necessary? May I call hypercalls from user application under
dom0 directly?

Unbalanced data in split-plot analysis with aov()

there any argument, I could supply to change this behaviour?
When I do the same with lm() and subsequent anova(), and calculate
F-value for Variety by hand, the estimates are still quite robust.

I do see I have weeks of codes in my console when I check with my arrow up

How do I clear this?

Upgraded to 2.9p1 with no luck..
Howdy,
After upgrading to 2.9 (OpenSSH_2.9p1, SSH protocols 1.5/2.0, OpenSSL
0x0090600f)
I'm unable to ssh between two systems any more (the two that I've upgraded).
I've recompiled from the original source several times, each time with no
errors,
regenerated host keys, regenerated client keys (using rsa), etc., to no
avail.
Below are some relevant snippets of debugging output

Basically I have (almost) one function per script file.
I am thinking of something like
#include in C++
import in Java/Python
use in Perl
No, I don't need my functions every time R is started.
Neither I am thinking about writing building my functions into
packages.
