Fortran level mismatch between package and R

mismatches, but there may be other problems we've not considered.
We're using R 2.4.1, linux 2.6/x64, gcc/gfortran 4.0.
To pre-answer some possible questions/suggestions -
Doing a full conversion of our R installation is almost certainly not
feasible; we also have legacy packages in place which don't build
with f90/f95.
Yes, we've thought of installing R built with gfortran and retaining
the old with f77; that's probably our first fallback. Unfortunately
that shuts legac package users from R improvements and will shut them

File Permissions 770 vs 760
I hope I did not miss something obvious, but I am having some file
permission issues. I am running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Server. I have some
directories served up by Samba. I force a group name to be used for all
files created on these directories to which all users belong.
In one directory I need to force users to save files with 770 permission for
draft documents so that other users can work on them

My SAMBA v3.0.13 (over a linux Redhat 7.3.1 With kernel 2.4.27-4) is
configured with " security = ADS " to communicate with Active directory
(2003 server).
The problem : When i modify the group of a user in the Active directory,
this modification is not completely taken into account in samba.
In fact the orders "getent" and "wbinfo"
