Hard(?) lock when reassociating ath with wpa_supplicant on RELENG_7
I seem to be able to lock my machine by going into wpa_cli and asking it to 'reassoc'. The reason for question mark after "hard" is that debug information (caused by wlandebug and athdebug) is being printed on the console. The only way to get machine's attention is to hold power button for 8 seconds. Note: manual reassociation is just the handy way to reproduce the problem

New R package MittagLeffleR
Dear all, apologies for interrupting your important work. The new R package MittagLeffleR is now available on CRAN. It computes the two types of Mittag-Leffler distributions, i.e. provides probability density, distribution function, quantile function and random variate generation for the Mittag-Leffler distributions, and the Mittag-Leffler function itself. It is based on the Laplace-inv...

atheros chips dangerous?
Hello, Possibly some of you will have read the news about "Hijacking a Macbook in 60 Seconds or Less"[1]. At this time I was searching a wireless card for my server and I wonder how this can affect to the combination FreeBSD+ath(4). The ath_hal page states that FreeBSD use a binary driver and I think it is located in this file[2]. Unlike OpenBSD which affirms that they have

multiple crypto accelerator cards in one FreeBSD box
Hi there! we are thinking of deploying a IPSEC VPN concentrator using multiple PCI bus version VPN1401 cards in a FreeBSD box using hifn support.. From the technical specs in Soekris website http://www.soekris.com/vpn1401.htm, each card can support 24 to 70 connections. The question is if we put 3 VPN1401 cards in a single box, does this mean the FreeBSD box can support 3 x (24 to 70) IPSEC

Freebsd Stable 6.x ipsec slower than with 4.9
Hello List, I have to dualcore Athlon 64 4800+ systems. Initially I was running 4.9 on both of them an was able to get 54mbits thru direct connected realtek 10/100 cards as measured by nttcp. I put stable on one of the system and now can on get 37mbits as measured by nttcp when going thru an ipsec tunnel. Eliminating the tunnel I get 94mbit/sec. Ideas as to why this is happening? Also

Stubbing helpers
Hi, Is it possible to stub out a helper for development? I''ve got a (view) helper that renders a partial and runs all kind of javascript. But for dev purposes I''d like it to return some hardcoded html. I''m not having any success stubbing the helper out. Something like... test/mocks/development/helper_stub.rb require ''application_helper'' class

Supsend/hibernate on Samsung NC10
Hi, I cannot have suspend and hibernate working on a Samsung NC10 (netbook) running CentOS 5.4 i386. When I try suspending/hibernating the screen becomes black (with a few logs, like "shrinking memory" for hibernate) and then the computer hangs and I have to force a shutdown with the power button. This wiki page seems to say that it should work out of the box:

Hi, Does FASTIPSec in FreeBSD use OCF framework ? Where can I find more documentation ? I wish to run cryptographic algorithms after setting a VPN. What command should I use to run a particular crytographic algorithm (e.g. 3DES etc.) Where can I find all such information ? -- Regards, Bubble

FAST_IPSEC doesn't seem to honor net.key.prefered_oldsa=0
When using the FAST_IPSEC option in the kernel build, the sysctl variable net.key.prefered_oldsa seems to make no difference. The kernel always chooses an old SA. This problem can be easily reproduced. Just wait till the soft limit of the SA is expired and do a setkey -F on the remote and then ping through the tunnel. Because the old SA's are preferred and the remote no longer has the old

wpa_supplicant and wi
I am using a Netgear MA401 with the wi driver, and am having trouble using wpa_supplicant to set static WEP keys. I have the wlan_wep.ko module loaded with wlan and wi built into the kernel. My wpa_supplicant.conf looks like this: ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant ctrl_interface_group=wheel network={ ssid="INTERNERD" scan_ssid=1 priority=1 key_mgmt=NONE

ath(4) and 802.11g speed
So, with the updated HAL, I'm now able to negotiate an IP address via DHCP over the WLAN. Huzzah! But I've got two questions (now that I can use the card): ath(4) doesn't contain a list of media nor mediaopt settings that can be used. Some are detailed down in EXAMPLES, but there's no comprehensive list. (As well, and this is minor, the speeds are explicitly listed for 802.11a
