He flushes all the tables, then saves an empty iptables configuration.
Later he adds to that empty iptables configuration.
Long-winded, but nothing wrong. Don't forget he is a learner (leerling)
No person is perfect when starting to learn a new system.
Only by experimenting will one learn.

smbmount often doesn't go daemon
Hi,
Since i upgraded to Linux Redhat 9.0 / samba-2.2.7a-8.9.0 / kernel 2.4.20-9
i have the following problem:
# smbmount //amd/Films /mnt/disk -o username=jan,password=XXXXXX
#
In 50% of the times i do this command it mounts the share and goes into
daemon mode and ps -aux shows one process smbmount. All ok.
However in the other 50% the command just hangs. If i open a new window
it did do

I hope you are all doing well.
I am busy teaching myself iptables and was wondering if I may get some
advise. The scenario is the following:
1. Default policy is to block all traffic
2. Allow web traffic and SSH
3. Allow other applications
I have come up with the following:

# RESET CURRENT RULE BASE
iptables -F
service iptables save
# DEFAULT FIREWALL
