what is CodeMeter and why is it running on my CentOS box?
I just stumbled over /var/log/CodeMeter, which contains a number of large log files. I know I'm getting old and forgetful, but I can't remember intentionally installing that package. Yum just says "installed" instead of listing a repo. Looking at codemeter.com, it seems to work with something called a "cm stick". I don't have one, don't want one, and never

next stable release?
Hi guys, I've been running 0.5.0, which is dated sometime in September of this year and I've noticed a couple of new features in more recent code that I'd like to use, but am hesitant to go w/ CVS code. My system is not exactly a production system, it's mostly test, but I'm still leery of the fresh code. I'm wondering when the next stable release might come out, and

Package updates for 5.4?
We're running a large cluster, and are leery of upgrading them all to 5.5, but would like to find the latest security patches. Is there a repo for this? I can't seem to find a 5.4 specific update repo with anything since last March. Is 5.4 EOL'd? Thanks, -- Mitch -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL:

CentOS wiki section for job postings?
Jim Perrin mentioned a job opening on the CentOS list yesterday. I'd like to do the same, but I'm leery of contributing to topic drift. Is there any interest in creating a job-board section of some kind on the wiki? Anyone have experience with unusual problems that such a section might cause?

Best way to move mail to an archive
Hello all...new to dovecot and this list. I have a question that may have been answered before, but I can't find anything yet that addresses it directly. I installed dovecot 2.0.8 (+postfix, fetchmail) on a small server to manage several e-mail accounts. I love this software! So, to back to the question: I'd like to archive e-mail as it ages into a single IMAP archive directory.

File dates for Stable on FTP sites
I went to download 4.9 stable today, but was leery when I noticed that the files for 4.9 are all dated in October 2002 (on ftp.freebsd.org). While I suspect that this is just a clock issue on the server, I wanted to make certain that there was not a potential security concern. Can anyone confirm that this server just has an incorrect clock? Thanks, Eric

PXELINUX Lua bindings for DHCP in future release?
I saw a post by Timm Gleason back in Oct. 2011 - http://www.syslinux.org/archives/2011-October/016928.html This would also be handy for something I'm doing, but my group is leery of "owning" syslinux in order to incorporate this patch. I did a quick test to my own build, and it seemed to work well. What would it take to get this incorporated into a future syslinux release? Is

enumerating group members with nss_winbind (4.0.9 as AD DC)
When I do "getent group", I want to see the group's members enumerated. With nss_ldap they are; with nss_winbind they aren't: root at gumbo:~# getent group mgmt PI\mgmt:*:1040: There *are* members there (partially redacted): root at gumbo:~# ldbsearch -Htdb:///var/lib/samba/private/sam.ldb cn=mgmt member # record 1 dn: CN=mgmt,CN=Users,REDACTED member:

Tired of dropouts and garbled phone calls - where to go next?
All, The users in our organization are well, quite frankly, sick of phone service that is being provided. The choppy phone calls, and drop outs are detrimental to our sales force. I've tried about everything I can think of. Moved the asterisk server from VM machine to dedicated machine More than enough bandwidth Setting 802.1p = 7 Set Dedicated voice traffic 35% of bandwidth. Rails Configuration in Workers
I override some Rails'' configuration options in my project, like: config.database_configuration_file = "#{RAILS_ROOT}/local/config/ database.yml" But they aren''t picked up in BackgroundRB because Rails ActiveRecord is just initialized directly in MasterWorker#load_rails_env: db_config_file = YAML.load(ERB.new(IO.read("#{RAILS_HOME}/

Recommendation for extension mapping on inbound T1 line
Converting this customer from a MiTel system to asterisk. Discovered that the inbound calls from the T1 are going to extension 366. (This was mapped in the MiTel for some arcane purpose.) The dial plan I am currently using is shown below. When loading the dial plan, I get this warning: WARNING[5004]: pbx_config.c:1561 pbx_load_config: The use of '_.' for an extension is strongly

Samba 4.2.0 fails to start if domain was provisioned by classicupgrade
Hello, I am trying to upgrade our domain controller to 4.2.0 from 4.1.16, however samba will not start after the upgrade. It appears to be related to the fact that this AD domain was created by running classicupgrade. My test environment, which was originally provisioned from 4.0 does not have this problem. This server was originally deployed back in 2004 using Samba3 and OpenLDAP. We upgraded

[LLVMdev] ADT/Hashing.h on 32-bit platforms
Hi, Currently the hashing implementation in ADT/Hashing.h produces hash values on 32-bit platforms that differ from the lower 32-bits of the hash values produced on 64-bit platforms. It seems the only reason for this difference is that the uint64_t integer seed is truncated to size_t. Since the usage of uint64_t and size_t as types for seed values in the implementation is somewhat

OT: workstation recommends: Thinkmate?
I'm looking to buy a new workstation, and it looks like Thinkmate makes what I need -- their vsx "virtually silent" variety. I hestitate because I wasn't happy with a laptop I bought a few years ago from a small outfit that sold Linux boxes exclusively. Does anyone have experience with Thinkmate, and in particular, the VSX line? If the later, is it really quiet. I run Centos

facter doesn't load from /ect/facter/facts.d
I''m trying to load custom facts via /etc/facter/facts.d/* according to instructions on http://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/custom_facts.html#structured-data-facts I must have missed a setting somewhere because I get nothing. The first clue may be that /etc/facter didn''t exist. I had to create it manually. Is there a setting or search path I need to create? Details: puppet

Doveadm service as non-root user
Running: Ubuntu xenial, dovecot 2.2.36 I've been working on moving our user base from maildir to mdbox and trying to come up with solutions for things like moving emails around. In the past, with maildir, our support guys could just mv the files around and done. For mdbox, I've been working on getting things set up to use doveadm. One weirdness I've seen is that in imports (i.e.
