Problems with Access Control for Shares on Samba 2
Hi all !
I have a question regarding the access control in Samba 2. I want to make shares available to the Windows Network for which only the owner of the share has write access. Other users however should be able to read and browse these shares.
My smb.conf :

workgroup = leat
guest account = nobody
keep alive = 30
os level = 2
kernel oplocks = false

Problem with 'resource temporarily unavailable'
We've got problems running tinc over DSL lines using low cost
routers/modems (at leat I think it's a hardware problem.)
We get error messages such as the following:
Jan 15 11:36:05 stv100 tinc.stv100[2784]: Sending meta data to vpn
(162.37.22.162 port 2007) failed: Resource temporarily unavailable
This doesn't seem to stop tinc -- it keeps going, but the interruption
is enough

[LLVMdev] LLVM instrumentation
The PGO was my first guess but I can get a lot of information.
At first, I follow the explanation at http://clang.llvm.org/docs/UsersManual.html#profiling-with-instrumentation but instead of llvm-profdata merge, I used llvm-profdata show *.profraw.
Sadly, the information I get is the total number of function, the maximum function count and the maximum internal block count.
Do you know if you

CentOS for commercial use
I'm a home user of CentOS (a desktop and a laptop) because I like the
quality of the product and I love the cost. I'm a great believer in
FOSS.
That being said, I know that some of you use CentOS for production
servers and (perhaps?) desktops as well. I've read at leat one comment
like "I have 20 CentOS servers."
My employer is a firm believer in RHEL - license costs are

[PATCH v2 04/11] resize: add support for logical partitions for calculate_surplus
Add support for logical partitions.
- count number of logical_partition (we've split partitions list)
- don't count size of extended partition
For it'll duplicate with logical partition, we'll count it later
- we need at leat 1 gap between logical partitions.
so --aligment=1 will be increased by 1

Dear all,
I have been doing some frailty calculations and been facing some

I can extract coefficients, value of theta and the following things

fit$coef
fit$history[[1]]$theta
fit$history[[1]]$c.loglik

Trouble with User Management
Hi all !
I am trying to setup a Samba 3 server which allows WinXP machines to access directories on a Linux box. So far, I have managed to set upa stand-alone server with a public share which can be read by everybody in the Windows Neighborhood. What I want to do, though, is to have some kind of user management, so that only the person who owns a Linux directory in the share can access it via his

Out-dated link to download Rails packages
On http://rubyonrails.org/download there is a statement: "Rails can
also be downloaded as stand-alone packages." The link takes you to:
http://rubyforge.org/frs/?group_id=307. The last version of rails on
this site is: Rails 2.3.4. Two questions:
1) There is no link on the rubyonrails.org to provide feedback on the
site itself. How can I report this?
2) Where are the current RoR

Bluetooth with *
Hi All
Does anyone know if one could use bluetooth on a cell phone
with *? Would be nice to have your cell as an office phone
combo. I heard that there is a bluetooth module for *? If so
this should be possible?
Thanks

running a locally built R-devel with libraries from Debian installation
Hi,
What is the best way to tell a locally-built R-devel (somewhere in the
user home directory) to use the libraries from the Debian installation
(i.e. /usr/local/lib/R/site-library and /usr/lib/R/site-library). I
suppose this would take setting one or all of R_LIBS, R_LIBS_SITE,
R_LIBS_USER in ~/.Renviron, but that would also affect the Debian R in
the system so is not an option. How do R

I have Asterisk 1.0.5-BRIstuffed-0.2.0-RC5 up and running. Everything
seems to be running fine but after some time asterisk just goes crazy
(even withouth any incoming or outgoing call activity perviously).
If I leave the box up for some time * goes haywire and the console is
flooded with this message:

At that time I can see that there

Connecting Asterisk to GSM
Hi List,
I was wondering if there was any device I could use to connect * to GSM
networks. I don't need much capacity, maybe 2-4 GSM channels. As usual,
cheap is better :-)
Any tips on this?
Cheers,
Jean-Michel.
