Newbie here, need help w/ MS photodraw
...here. Found Wine by accident actually. New to Linux as well, only been 2 days. I have the latest version of Ubuntu on my HP computer. Love it! Anyhow, I've used MS Photodraw 2000 since 2000 and it does virtually everything I want, and when I found out I could install it in Ubuntu my heart leapt with joy! It installed fine. My problem that I have is that when I run the program it asks me for my name, initials, group and the cd key. I entered the key when I installed the program so I'm not sure why it's asking it again and where my name goes there is this "Change preferred o...

Modify but not create permissions
I am still trying to figure out why samba wont let me create in subdirectories
I've tripple checked everything and a few things leapt out at me.
*) I can modify a file inside a directory that I cannot create a file in. I
did not know it was possible under linux to do that.
*) If I set all perms on 777 I can create. But neither 775 or 755 will allow
it.
*) When I go into a mount through a terminal, and I do an ls -l I get...

With thanks,

Calculate NAs from known data: how to?
Hi
In a dataset I have length and age for cod. The age, however, is ony
given for 40-100% of the fish. What I need to do is to fill inn the NAs
in a correct way, so that age has a value for each length. This is to be
done for each sample seperately (there are 324 samples), meaning the NAs
for sampleno 1 shall be calculated from the known values from sampleno 1.
As for example length 55 cm
