samba AD - bind - deleted DNS entries are not removed completely
So in my case - is it safe to delete directly using ldbdel or using
windows ADSI gui ldap editor? Or is there another way? What is the right
way to do it?
something like:
ldbdel -H /usr/local/samba/private/sam.ldb
-b"DC=DomainDnsZones,DC=mydomain,DC=com '(dNSTombstoned: TRUE)' ?
I read in samba 4.9 new features release notes about scaven...

I have no idea, mainly because I have never done what the OP did.
Basically the dns records are just ldap records, so you may be able to
delete them with ldbdel , but you will need to find the DN's to delete
first.

Didn't think you could have two records with the same DN, if this is
true, then it does sound like a bug, care to share the two DN's ?

No, only operate on sam.ldb, you need the '--cross-ncs' option to
ldbsearch.

yes, provided it is the correct record.

ldbdelete ?

Neither should need to be stopped.

Yes, the change should be replicated to the other.

No, you shouldn't need to stop either.

How to delete a corrupt record from internal DNS
...gt;
>>
>
>
Hi Ole, can you identify the DN of the record you want to remove?
One way would be with ldbedit:
ldbedit -e nano -H /path/to/private/sam.ldb --cross-ncs --show-binary
and then searching for the record.
Once you have the DN, you may be able to delete the entire record with
ldbdel:
ldbdel -H /path/to/private/sam.ldb --cross-ncs <the object DN (without
the 'dn: ')>

showrepl is showing a deleted connexion
Solved !
Thanks for the script.
In my case, it was just too late.
I have just found a ugly but working solution:
From Configuration, Schema, Domaindnszones, forestdnszones and principal, I remove using ldbdel a "repsTo" binary object.
No more trouble with drs showrepl :-)

Issue: ldbadd cannot re-add a deleted user account.
What I did:
1. save user account

2. delete the user account
# ./bin/ldbdel -H /usr/local/samba/private/sam.ldb

2. add it back again
First remove the following attr from the saved file user-add.ldif
