Technical questions on AD and NT4

There are plans for supporting again an OpenLDAP backend when LDAPcon objectives will be achieved? https://ldapcon.org/2019/wp-content/events/presentations/ni_samba_backend.pdf Why an user in old NT4 schema looks like this: dn: uid=myuser,ou=People,dc=mydomain while in AD LDAP schema looks like this dn: CN=myuser,CN=Users,DC=mydomain ? To what extent is LDB retroco...

LDB object number limitations
...mean users, computers, and other kind of nodes. On a Samba Wiki page, the doc notes: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/LDB#How_LDB_uses_TDB "How LDB uses TDB LDB basically sits on top of TDB and manipulates the data into an LDAP-like structure." And I've found a doc here: https://ldapcon.org/2015/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/ivanova-samba_backend.pdf which notes, that "Problems of Samba 4 with TDB * Scalability - Supported TDB version is 32 bit, which puts a 4GB limit on the database, equals around 300 000 objects depending on their size. - Work on the 64 bit is not progressi...

samba-tool domain provision no such option: --slapd-path
Hello, because of the login problem with windows 10 and the required changes in "server max protocol" i try to setup an AD. The AD works fine, now I have an other problem. In my Samba3 install i have the following config: mailserver with standanlone openLDAP <- sync -> samba3 with openLDAP so the mailserver can receive mails even if the pdc is down. as i can see at
