Internal LDAP problem
...trying to use the internal LDAP provided by Samba4 to store mail domains used by SOGo. I have two sets of users. Those used by Samba and created through samba-tool and those created under some "ou" I have made up. A few days ago I was able to change the latter users passwords using "ldapadmin" (a windows LDAP client) but today I am not. When I try to change a password I get an error message like "RPC server unavailable". And I have another problem with LDAP. I have to use ldapadmin to change users' password because ldappasswd gives me this error: ldappasswd -d4 -h...

WG: Samba, ldap and machine accounts
Hello G?tz, grep yourself ldapadmin to administrate samba3 http://ldapadmin.sourceforge.net. What means to a certain point? You must add the machines on your centosbox to samba/ldap with the smbldap-tools (This never worked with my version). I did it with ldapadmin. Other possibly relevant details: There's an OpenLDAP proxy between the Some Unix machines will authenticate via pure LDAP, no Kerberos I use LdapAdmin to view the AD information, to help troubleshoot actually getting pure LDAP auth working. I do not change anything via LdapAdmin, changes happen via the snap-in or by adding clients to the domain at the client. Thanks, ==ml -- Michael W. Define a rootDN for ldap queries in Samba 4 AD
...to  specify which account has the right to make ldap queries against Samba 4 AD ldap database (with ldapsearch), whether in read or write access. On a Samba PDC install running OpenLDAP backend, it was possible to define this in slapd.conf by lines like that: access to *     by dn="uid=ldapadmin,ou=users,dc=domain,dc=lan" write or rootdn        "uid=ldapadmin,ou=users,dc=domain,dc=lan" Now that ldap is internal to Samba, i'm wondering where to put these options... Right now, i can make successful ldap queries with ldapsearch (both ssl and tls) like that: ldapsear...

Is there such "root" user for Samba AD LDAP?    We have a lot of scripts based on "ldapsearch" (without authentification) and "ldapmodify" (with ldap authentification). It would be very unpleasan...

remote password change, if password is expired
Hi, I don't know if the password check script is executed if you change the password using samba. You can simply test it: Download "LdapAdmin": http://www.ldapadmin.org Connect to your DC as a user. Then navigate to your user object and click on "Set password" in the context menu. Then you can verify if your script will be executed. Other options like the password length or password complexity will work when you set the...

I have rebooted the system, and this problem persists. Removing the user from "Domain Users" in LdapAdmin, and then readding them did nothing. Although slapcat did reflect the removal. I'm...
