Ransomware?
I had to deal with ransomware at the end of April. One of the PCs on my customer's network was infected by opening a realistic looking email apparently from a genuine supplier to the company and personally addressed. The infection occurred on Wednesday, but encryption of the server only took place late on Friday afternoon, presumably having obtained encryption keys from the criminals. The

Migrating from CommunigatePro to Dovecot - anyone done this?
Apologies if this is in the archive - did look but couldn't find it. Does anyone have any experience of migrating from CommunigatePro to Dovecot? We currently run CGP 5.3.4, supporting a small system (20 or so users, one domain). We've been using it for years, and have a mixed bag of MailDir and mbox folders accessed via IMAP clients. Some users have large mail accounts (15GB total).

...39;glendiscovery' by the server IP address, so it has not previously been on the domain. I deliberately changed the name to glendisc to avoid possible issues. I can still connect to my workgroup shares I noted that the samba user root had disappeared so I added new user 'root' and 'plawrie' and enabled them in swat password. That's presumably for the tdbsam database, instead of smbpasswd Still no difference. I have several customers who have introduced win7 machines, so I will have to get this working before I try it on their business networks. For reference here is my smb....

samba and ms server 2008
Hi I am about to set up a Centos server with samba and an MS server 2008 for a new customer. The MS server is required because he has an MSSQL application. The samba shares will be for everything else. I've previously set up centos and redhat servers as domain members with a 2003 pdc before I get stuck, are there any issues I should worry about with server 2008? What release of samba should I
