CentOS6.4 and Apple keyboard
I have just installed (with kikstart) centOS6.4 on a PC which was
previously running OpenSUSE (11.x).
This PC has an apple keyboard and I'm unable to setup this keyboard.
In .xsession-errors I get this messages :
Error: No Symbols named "latin9" in the include file

Fwd: [PATCH hivex] non-ASCII characters in node names
...Hi Richard,
I was a little bit surprised when a colleague claimed that key and value
names in the registry could contain non-ASCII characters.
I created keys and values with the following names:
* "asdf"
* "???" (common in German, can be represented in Windows-1252, Latin1,
Latin9)
* the Euro sign (can be represented in Windows-1252, Latin9)
* the international currency symbol (can be represented in Windows-1252,
Latin1)
>From looking at the nodes/values, I have come to the conclusion that
Windows first looks if all characters in a string can be represented in
the Lati...

Reading in a table with ISO-latin1 encoding in MacOS-X (Intel)
Dear colleages in R,
I have earlier been working with R in Linux, where reading in a table
containing Scandinavian letters ("?", "?", and "?") in the header as
part of variable names has not caused any problem whatsoever.
However, when trying to do the same in R running on new MacOS-X (with
an Intel processor) with the same original text table does not seem to
