Meta-data enabled encoders
...artist, title, and album information to the file. I consider that
a must before I start ripping files into the .ogg format.
Does anyone have *any* kind of a timeframe on an encoder (for Linux)
that can insert comments(meta-data, whatever)?
I appreciate any comments.

Ogg/Mp3 Encoding Comparison
...ell.
Ogg: 2200 kilobytes
Mp3: 2852 kilobytes
So, with regular stereo Ogg files are smaller than comparable bitrate
MP3's as well.
A big thanks for all the great work goes out to Monty and the rest of
Ogg/Vorbis team. I really appreciate the effort and results.

Compiling the 'cmdline' demo
...y in the future.
P.S. I had to add 'header.o' to the 'OFILES' line in the Makefile in
the cmdline directory already. Without it there were several more
'undefined reference to' errors in the build process. Somebody might
want to fix that in CVS.

Comparison Between MP3 and Vorbis
...ing Vorbis/.ogg files expected to improve? Is
that just an artifact of being pre-release, unoptimized code?
later,
joseph
P.S. I compiled everything using the default Makefiles (produced after
running ./configure). Compiler is gcc 2.95.2, system is Debian
GNU/Linux unstable (woody).
