TC Newbie Questions
...o what I specifically want. I have a linux firewall talking to my cable modem, as well as the rest of my network. I have 4 things I''m trying to accomplish, in order of priority: 1) I use a VoIP phone, and want to give it as much bandwidth as it wants whenever it wants it with minimal latancy - this should never be more than about 100kbit. There is one VoIP device that will always be on the same IP when on my network (DHCP Reservation). 2) I want interactive traffic, especially SSH, to get priority over everything except the VoIP device. Low latancy is also important here. 3) All n...

Questions about converting maildir to mdbox.
...it is pretty good, only a performance problens but i guess it is realated to ocfs2 that we are using. So lets begin: We are using dovecot 2.0.6 with maildir in an ocfs2 partiton. It is pretty slow access in peak time, but it is related to ocfs2 as i said before, i am trying to mimimize the ocfs2 latancy by using mdbox. Another problem that we have are Full backup that takes about 24h and incremental takes about 13h I am thinking in converting some email for testing propose, but i am wondoring how would dovecot convert this, like if i convert all mail from maildir to mdbox it would make many mailb...

Synchronize listeners
Is it at all possible to synchronize listeners so they hear the audio at the exact same time? It doesn't matter if the source and listener is a few seconds different. Someone I know wants to send Ogg Vorbis encoded audio across a wireless LAN using Icecast to 2 LPFM transmitters on the same frequency, and they really need to be closely synchronized to prevent echo in an overlap coverage

Icecast2 Burst-on-Connect
Can anyone explain what the fundamental difference between the Burst-on-Connect mode that Icecast2 uses versus SHOUTcast? There is a thread starting on the VLC Player list that is stating that the problems that VLC has playing Icecast2 Burst-on-Connect (default) streams is the fault of Icecast2. I don't believe this is true, as Winamp has no problem with Icecast2 streams. I'm hoping

Configuring icecast for lowest buffering/latency
Hi, I'm using Icecast on a windows pc as a "gobetween" to output from a streaming encoder, bounce it of an icecast server locally on the workstation and then being picked up from the local icecast server and relayed on again. (I'm using liveCaster from www.live.com as it allows me to send the audio stream as UDP which is more efficient than HTTP streaming - unfortunately it does

priorities + htb
Hi! How does prioritization work when you''ve got a tree structure, e.g. | +-- class_a rate 64kbit prio 1 | | | +-- class_a1 rate 32kbit prio 1 | | | `-- class_a2 rate 32kbit prio 2 | `-- class_b rate 64kbit prio 2 Above could either be interpreted as (a) a, a1 have prio 1 b, a2 have prio 2 (iow, no distinction is being made between the inner/nested
